[Bug 1392460] Re: resume hang ubuntu 14.10 kernel 3.16
On a reboot the backlight is turned on very early in the process, before the driver is loaded, probably by the bios. This is obvious because grub is able to display, so on a reboot the driver does not have to turn on the backlight, it is already on, whereas on a resume the backlight needs to be explicitly turned on by the operating system since the bios is only involved to the extent of signalling the ACPI state. However even if there is a bug in the bios with respect to supporting whatever mechanism the driver is attempting to use to manage the hardware display state, on Ubuntu 13 and earlier the display was occasionally turned on by resume, whereas now it is never turned on. Please tell me what I have to do to resolve the incomplete status of this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1392460 Title: resume hang ubuntu 14.10 kernel 3.16 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1392460/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1113420] Re: Alt+key window menu shortcuts cannot be disabled
The above comment didn't work for me. It seems in Ubuntu 14.04, Nautilus uses GTK-3.0 and in 3.0 they moved away from the gtkrc files and use settings.ini files in various locations. Paul Johnson, the next step would be to test to this issue on the latest mainline kernel via 3.19-rc2. Raymond tends to be side-tracked from time to time and ask questions which are related to your original issue. Also apologies for not having read the entire thread through. PulseAudio closes the audio stream five seconds after no applications are active, so that's probably when the issue goes back to normal too. The resampler changed from null to copy means that we have a resampler engine active for the stream, but all it does is to convert from s16le (as being input by Chrome) to s32le. You're probably hitting a driver issue, but I wonder how we can prove it. Also the fact that it seems to hit one application only is a bit strange, maybe it's related to the requested latency by that specific application or something. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315212 Title: [CA0106 - CA0106, playback] Playback problem - Surround dies, no valid output To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/alsa-driver/+bug/1315212/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
