Hardy is a release of Ubuntu that is no longer supported so packages for
it have been removed from the archive and its mirrors.

[Bug 1407013] Re: upgrade from 10.04LTS to 12.04LTS

2015-01-05 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect 1407013

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1392460] Re: resume hang ubuntu 14.10 kernel 3.16

2015-01-05 Thread James Cobban
On a reboot the backlight is turned on very early in the process, before
the driver is loaded, probably by the bios. This is obvious because
grub is able to display, so on a reboot the driver does not have to turn
on the backlight, it is already on, whereas on a resume the backlight
needs to be explicitly turned on by the operating system since the bios
is only involved to the extent of signalling the ACPI state. However
even if there is a bug in the bios with respect to supporting whatever
mechanism the driver is attempting to use to manage the hardware display
state, on Ubuntu 13 and earlier the display was occasionally turned on
by resume, whereas now it is never turned on.

Please tell me what I have to do to resolve the incomplete status of
this problem.

[Bug 1113420] Re: Alt+key window menu shortcuts cannot be disabled

2015-01-05 Thread Elijah Lynn
The above comment didn't work for me. It seems in Ubuntu 14.04, Nautilus
uses GTK-3.0 and in 3.0 they moved away from the gtkrc files and use
settings.ini files in various locations.

For Nautilus on Ubuntu 14.04:

Create the following path file if it doesn't already exist.
/home/YOURUSERNAME/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini
Then add:
[Settings]
gtk-enable-mnemonics = 0
Then logout and log back in.

[Bug 1314058] Re: app_stack.so: undefined symbol: ast_agi_unregister

2015-01-05 Thread Nick Piggott
I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 with Asterisk 11.7.0~dfsg-1ubuntu1 and FreePBX
12.0.25.

app_stack.so will not load at boot, either autoloading or with a
specific load directive in the startup scripts.

I can load it manually by connecting to the asterisk console (sudo
asterisk -r) and then manually typing module load app_stack. It loads
without errors, and operational proceeds as normal.

It's a critical problem for a remote system which is not easily remotely
accessible.

[Bug 1363313] Re: mpt2sas not loaded with LSISAS2008 card in trusty 14.04.1

2015-01-05 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Paul Johnson, the next step would be to test to this issue on the latest
mainline kernel via 3.19-rc2. If reproducible, one would want to gather
the information requested by upstream in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1363313/comments/35
using that kernel. Then, you would want to personally report this via
bugzilla as specifically requested by upstream following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/kernel . Please feel free to post
the URL to this new report here once made so it may be tracked.

[Bug 1315212]

2015-01-05 Thread Rkfg
BTW, my mic is connected to the blue jack, not the usual pink one. This
is the only configuration I've found to be working, others result in
noise or silence. The mic is a bit more quiet (not _almost silent_ as if
it's connected to a Line-In jack, just not comfortable enough) than it
was on the ALC889 internal card so I had to increase the volume via
software means. There's no boost setting in the alsamixer but PulseAudio
can handle that.

Ok, what about the original issue? I don't quite get what we are doing
here. It looks like we're debugging something completely unrelated, for
example, I don't use the digital output like iec958 and this game
doesn't capture sound so this is probably unrelated, too. I'm fine with
improving ALSA but all this looks like other bugs and should probably be
filed separately...

[Bug 1404660] Re: update from 12.04 to 14.04 via upgrade-manager -d called Ubuntu Desktop install fail message

2015-01-05 Thread Brian Murray
This might have some to do with the fact that you have no desktop
metapackage installed.

2014-12-21 17:09:36,207 DEBUG none of the '['ubuntu-desktop',
'kubuntu-desktop', 'xubuntu-desktop', 'ubuntustudio-desktop',
'mythbuntu-desktop', 'kubuntu-netbook', 'lubuntu-desktop']' meta-pkgs installed
2014-12-21 17:09:36,207 DEBUG guessing 'ubuntu-desktop' as missing meta-pkg

Please try installing the one of your preference and then trying the
upgrade again. Thanks!

[Bug 1385137] Re: [ASUS N550JK] Touchpad recognized wrongly as PS/2 mouse

2015-01-05 Thread Pilot6
Christopher,

No chance in 3.19-rc2. The driver will be merged in rc3.
But for some reason there is some problem with this specific model.

goto,

Pls wait till 3.19-rc3 is released and make a kernel bugzilla report, if
touchpad does not work.

[Bug 1315212]

2015-01-05 Thread David Henningsson
Raymond tends to be side-tracked from time to time and ask questions
which are related to your original issue. Also apologies for not having
read the entire thread through.

PulseAudio closes the audio stream five seconds after no applications
are active, so that's probably when the issue goes back to normal too.

The resampler changed from null to copy means that we have a
resampler engine active for the stream, but all it does is to convert
from s16le (as being input by Chrome) to s32le.

You're probably hitting a driver issue, but I wonder how we can prove
it. Also the fact that it seems to hit one application only is a bit
strange, maybe it's related to the requested latency by that specific
application or something.

(In reply to Raymond from comment #49)
did your sb0410 have these two chips ?

 ADC: WM8775EDS (4 Channel)

My card looks exactly like this:

if you look at cs4382 datasheet , it has three modes which can double or quad
the speed

for wm8775 which does not have any boost for mic, you have to ask the author
who add support of mic line in switch since the datasheet does not mention any
usage of input pins as mic

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Drivers

you have to file upstream bug for overrun when recording using arecord
