[Bug 913434]

2016-05-20 Thread Tiago Stürmer Daitx
I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu's IcedTea 2.6.6 running:
- the integrated lcms library (disable-system-lcms)
- lcms 2.5 and 2.6 system library (enable-system-lcms)

For some reason that I haven't been able to track down yet it does
depend on the JPEG file under test - a initial sample I grabbed from the
internet ran just fine, only when I tested it against bunch grabbed from
`locate .jpg` was I able to reproduce it.

I haven't tested it against 3.x, but OpenJDK 8u91 runs just fine when
using the same lcms 2.6 so I would expect similar results.

Let me know if hs_err and/or core files would be of any help, as well as
running it against an upstream IcedTea build (Ubuntu does not patch
anything related to lcms).

Started a few testes after an Ubuntu user reported running into this
issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-7/+bug/913434).

[Bug 1578674] Re: bind9 packages should not depend on python2 in xenial

2016-05-20 Thread Steve Langasek
I agree with Chris, this is a significant change in SRU for small
benefit.  We're stuck with python2 in main for the duration of 16.04;
SRUs to change an interpreter post-release are not justifiable under our
SRU policy.

Happy to discuss this further if there's an overriding reason here, but
in the meantime I'm rejecting the upload from the queue and marking the
task invalid.

Provide jpeg files (at least 128 of them) in a ./jpg directory
Run using something like:

$ while ! timeout --preserve-status 10 java Lp9133434Imageio; do echo "

as the bug doesn't happen on every run (seem to depend on the jpeg files
under test, I can get it once about every 5 runs).

[Bug 1584254] [NEW] Missing online manual pages for tightvncserver package

2016-05-20 Thread C. Jeffery Small
Public bug reported:

There is an online manual page for xtightvncviewer at:

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/wily/en/man1/xtightvncviewer.1.html

However, all the links to related programs on this page, including:

vncserver(1), Xvnc(1), vncpasswd(1), vncconnect(1)

are broken links. Most of these utilities (excluding Xvnc),are a part
of the tightvncserver package and are installed locally with this
package. They should also be installed online.

There is possibly a namespace conflict with other VNC packages which
needs to be resolved.

[Bug 1572613] Re: GCC stack access scheduled after stack deallocation

2016-05-20 Thread Steve Langasek
NB binary inspection of the executables to check for this particular
miscompilation is /not/ a sufficient test case; we should at a minimum
establish that the newly-built binaries still run, especially as these
are being rebuilt on all architectures.

[Bug 1572613] Please test proposed package

2016-05-20 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello bugproxy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted juju-mongodb3.2 into xenial-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/juju-
mongodb3.2/3.2.4-0ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1572613] Re: GCC stack access scheduled after stack deallocation

2016-05-20 Thread Steve Langasek
For many of these packages, a passing autopkgtest is a sufficient SRU
test case for a no-change rebuild. But some of these packages have no
autopkgtests. Dimitri, please provide test cases for those packages
that don't have autopkgtests (e.g., fpgatools).

Not accepting these uploads unless a test case is available.

[Bug 1584235] [NEW] bcmwl 6.30.223.141/248/271 hardlock on ubuntu 16.04

2016-05-20 Thread Adwin
Public bug reported:

The bcmwl 6.30.223.141/248/271 driver versions (both vanilla & ubuntu-
patched up to .248) hardlock the system (freeze) on vanilla kernel
4.6.0.

Reproducibility: always
The freeze seems to be faster with increased network usage (can happen within
minutes of a fresh boot).

bcmwl-kernel-source works fine on the 4.4.0-22 ubuntu kernel though.
Didn't test on 4.4 vanilla or 4.5.

[Bug 1584234] [NEW] mysql-server fails to install if it cannot start due to not enough memory

2016-05-20 Thread Simos Xenitellis 
Public bug reported:

The default installation of mysql-server is completed successfully if it
manages to start at the same time. If for some reason mysql-server
cannot start, then the installation fails without giving a comprehensive
error message. The user has no clue as to why the installation failed.
The only file with information is /var/log/mysql/error.log.

Users run Ubuntu on affordable servers with little memory (Amazon EC2 600MB
RAM, or DigitalOcean 512MB RAM). In addition, users may use containers like LXD
which means that mysql-server may not get as much memory as required.
Therefore, the installation may or may not fail. In addition, mysql-server may
crash latter if not enough memory is available.
The default requirement for memory for mysql-server is 128MB (InnoDB).

There should be a way to inform the user that mysql-server does not
install if there is not enough memory.

** Affects: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1584234] Re: mysql-server fails to install if it cannot start due to not enough memory

2016-05-20 Thread Simos Xenitellis 
Attempt for installation of mysql-server, which fails due to not enough memory.
The messages do not give a clue that the problem is memory-related.

The commands (systemctl, journalctl) that are mentioned, do not provide
a hint.

[Bug 1160046] Re: terminal does not resize correctly after maximise by sliding to top panel

2016-05-20 Thread Matthew Fearnley
Yes, I have just tried 14.04 quickly, and it is restoring OK there. I
notice that since then they've added the ability for text to re-wrap on
terminal resize. I don't know if that's related.

[Bug 1584231] Re: support 'confinement' field in snap v2 yaml

2016-05-20 Thread Jamie Strandboge
** Description changed:

- ...
+ [Impact]
+ Upgrade to review tools 0.43. The review tools provide lint-style checks for
clicks and snaps. This release has several bug fixes and support for new snappy
yaml declarations, the most important of which is supporting the 'confinement'
property.
+
+ Here is the complete changelog:
+
+ * sr_lint.py:
+ - kernel snaps may have external symlinks
+ - handle top-level plugs and slots with yaml data as 'null' (LP: #1579201)
+ - add epoch checks (LP: #1583298)
+ - .pyc are arch-independent, so don't complain about them
+ - add confinement checks (LP: #1580819)
+ * data/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu.json:
+ - add opengl interface as 'common' (LP: #1572140)
+ - add reserved bluez, network-manager and location-observe interfaces
+ * sr_security.py:
+ - remove last reference to 'cap'
+ - turn resquash test into info for now until the squashfs-tools bugs are
+ fixed and this is a reliable check
+ * when 'confinement' is 'devmode', override the result type to 'info'
+ - common.py: add override_result_type to allow in support of 'confinement'
+ overrides
+ - sr_common.py: add _devmode_override()
+ - sr_security.py: use override_result_type if in devmode
+ - LP: #1584231
+
+ [Test Case]
+ The testsuite tests the above and the store is already using these checks. To
verify the package:
+ 1. install the package
+ 2. verify click reviews work with: click-review /path/to/click
+ 3. verify snapv1 reviews work with: click-review /path/to/15.04/snap
+ 4. verify snapv2 reviews work with: click-review /path/to/16/snap
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ The worst regression is that the lint tool would trace back to the user
+ running it instead of displaying the information. The testsuite is run
+ during the build and is comprehensive with the added code maintaining
+ 100% coverage for sr_security.py and sr_lint.py. sr_common.py
+ maintaining 98% coverage.
+
+ [Other Info]
+ The store has been running r651 for weeks with no issues. r652 and later are
to support the new snappy 'confinement' and 'epoch' fields as per the spec and
fixes a few minor issues. The store will land this next week and if there are
regressions there, I will update this bug.

** Changed in: click-reviewers-tools (Ubuntu Xenial)
   Status: Triaged => In Progress

** Summary changed:

- support 'confinement' field in snap v2 yaml
+ update to 0.43 (aka, support 'confinement' field in snap v2 yaml)

[Bug 1584233] [NEW] No bluetooth audio regardless of profile

2016-05-20 Thread EvilWayz
Public bug reported:

As of this morning's upgrade, I no longer have bluetooth audio. Both my
audio headsets will connect, and they show up in the sound dialog box as
options, but they cannot be selected as options, the dialog box that
lets use choose between hsp or ad2p still says analog stereo, and if I
test the sound, it comes from the speakers.

I am using ubuntu 16.04LTS with the 4.4.0-23-generic kernel. I am using
Cinnamon 3.0 with Blueberry as my bluez frontend.

[Bug 684522] Re: format error in man page for dotlockfile

Doing a bit of launchpad cleanup. This was opened in maverick

I tried to unsuccessfully reproduce on xenial and precise, so I'm going
to assume that its been fixed somewhere along the line.

Thank you for taking the time to file this bug even though it has
languished without response for a long while. Please reopen if you feel
you can reproduce this on a release that is currently in support.

Thanks!

[Bug 1574745] Re: Missing symlinks to match locales

2016-05-20 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Thanks for your input, Mattia. Yeah, apparently I had installed an older
myspell-es version for my test case.

Uploaded a new variant to the PPA.

https://launchpad.net/~gunnarhj/+archive/ubuntu/lo-dicts-symlinks

* Made hunspell-es conflict to myspell-es (not sure it's necessary,
  but it mirrors upstream)
* Made hyphen-lt conflict to openoffice.org-hyphenation-lt (the
  ispell-lt changes in won't affect
  Xenial)
* Dropped the ku_TR.* links

So now, the million-dollar question: Is there anything else? ;)
