[Bug 1841518] [NEW] Default Pluma theme should be changed to match the rest of UM
You have been subscribed to a public bug: On a clean install, MATE uses a "standard" Light theme. Pluma not only ignores the system theme, but also defaults to a Dark one, leading to a jarring mismatch with everything else. This is especially egregious given that it's the default text editor and as such something that every user is going to encounter very quickly, even if just using a LiveCD to evaluate UM. Fixing the bad behavior would be the ideal solution, but is a lot more work. In the short term though, the default theme for it should be changed to Classic so that it at least looks like the rest of the distro. ** Affects: pluma (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Default Pluma theme should be changed to match the rest of UM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1841518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1840965] Re: dhclient initramfs code writes invalid net-eth0.conf
I'm attaching a patch for dhclient-enter-hooks.d/config. I thought to imitate ipconfig and write all values even if they're empty. For the debian/dhclient-script.* scripts which use chmod/chown parameters that aren't available in busybox, it might be best to just omit them, or use `cp/rm` instead of `chown/mv`. `cp` is supposed to preserve target attributes etc, so it'll work in a real system, even if `busybox cp` doesn't do that. ** Patch added: "isc-dhcp.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1840965/+attachment/5284861/+files/isc-dhcp.diff ** No longer affects: netplan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1840965 Title: dhclient initramfs code writes invalid net-eth0.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1840965/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1841510] [NEW] LONG delay sometimes 10+ minutes when opening file dialogue
Public bug reported: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using XCFE 4.12 2) The version of the package you are using affects multiple programs including thunderbird and xed thunderbird: Installed: 1:60.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.2 xed: Installed: 1.4.6+sonya gthumb: Installed: 3:3.4.3-1 3) What you expected to happen I expect to be able to open a file or save as within a few seconds. 4) What happened instead When I try to open a file or attach a file or save as it can take over 20 minutes. But the really weird thing is sometimes it is nearly instantaneous. So I am writing this as the problem has worsened - using thunderbird - wanted to attach a file - hung for a few minutes - was able to finally attach it Tried with gthumb (great program) to "save as' clicking on the icon to do so - first image was nearly instantaneous and worked fine - second image - took several minutes (is still hung so cannot say how long!) This works not works is a constant finding! it is almost an alternate use of any file dialogues works fast - works very slow - works fast. Very strange and very annoying Other information: some people report that having network resources not yet mounted caused this: - I have several network disks - some mounted, some not - are all in fstab (some are not turned on at the moment) - some are bookmarked in file managers I tried removing these and still had the issue BUT seems to be a longer delay since adding some network disks to fstab I hope this is the correct information - have not reported a bug before. [Bug 1800794] Re: usb-modeswitch can't apply Configuration=0 to Snapdragon X12 LTE
As RussianNeuroMancer correctly pointed out the bug is in the concatenation of the strings MODULES_PATH, kversion, and CDC_MBIM_DRIVER_PATH into cdc_mbim_module_path. The ending linefeed char in kversion is the culprit and it makes the dispatcher unable to detect the presence of a cdc-mbim module. usb_modeswitch will therefore not be able to automagically select the mbim configuration in the modem, usb_modeswitch thinks that the mbim driver is not present in the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1800794 Title: usb-modeswitch can't apply Configuration=0 to Snapdragon X12 LTE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-modeswitch/+bug/1800794/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1580385] Re: /usr/bin/nmap:11:hascaptures:hascaptures:hascaptures:hascaptures:hascaptures
The packaging changes between xenial and bionic don't seem to involve lua-lpeg, and notably the patch 0003-Link-against-lua-lpeg.patch is included in both (the patch is refreshed for lua5.3 in bionic, so the patch isn't identical). The diff of CHANGELOG between 7.01 and 7.60 doesn't indicate a mention of lua-lpeg or a fix of a recursion error, and none of the mentions of lua fixes seem to match this error. There's a lot of changes between these two versions, though. I'm guessing a bisection search would be the most straightforward way to identify the fix? ddstreet, when you tested against the bionic lua-lpeg, were you testing with lua5.2 or lua5.3? [Bug 1841489] [NEW] gnome-boxes reset VM network config on start
Public bug reported: I am trying to configure bridged network (switch from default NAT to bridged conction) for one of VMs created by gnome-boxes app. Here is my steps: 1. $ virsh -c qemu:///session edit ubuntu18.04 and change to 2. $ virsh -c qemu:///session start ubuntu18.04 Domain ubuntu18.04 started 3. $ virsh -c qemu:///session domiflist ubuntu18.04 Interface Type Source Model MAC --- tap0 bridge virbr1 virtio 52:54:00:41:f7:ed So, ubuntu18.04 VM gets external IP address and can be accessed from other PCs in the network. My problem is that configuration resets back to "user" or NAT network (with new mac address) each time gnome-boxes application started. [Bug 1841450] Re: After install qemu-kvm the boot freezes with splash screen
Hi Filip, Looks like you've got a typical conflict between the nvidia proprietary driver and your kvm kernel module in your local configuration. Getting this working can be a bit tricky and so I'd suggest soliciting help from community support channels (http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community). I'm not super familiar with kvm+nvidia myself, but here's a few links that look potentially relevant: * http://mathiashueber.com/fighting-error-43-nvidia-gpu-virtual-machine/ * https://docs.nvidia.com/grid/latest/grid-vgpu-release-notes-generic-linux-kvm/index.html * https://wiki.debian.org/VGAPassthrough If you don't actually need GPU passthru, and don't need the nvidia video driver, you could try removing it and running kvm with just nouveau. If you do want to keep the nvidia driver, then hopefully the above links will help. Getting the workflow improved for kvm with proprietary kernel modules installed would of course be great, so if you have actionable ideas let us know. I'm marking this "Invalid" because it doesn't appear to be a bug, but if I'm wrong, please change it back to "New" and add some more info to point me in the right direction. [Bug 1841488] [NEW] [Ubuntu18.10][Backport] Crypto VMX Fixes
Public bug reported: Cosmic is missing the fix for "5c380d623ed3 - crypto: vmx - Add support for VMS instructions by ASM (4 years, 5 months ago) " ... which is fixed by 'crypto: vmx - fix copy-paste error in CTR mode', it fixes a couple of incorrect branch targets, and usage of an incorrect vector assembly instruction. The others two patches ("crypto: vmx - CTR: always increment IV as quadword ", "crypto: vmx - ghash: do nosimd fallback manually ") fixes for ghash replaces the fallback mechanism that is used on powerpc an operation is required to operate in interrupt context. These fixes are important to avoid a potential data integrity issue. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Ubuntu on IBM Power Systems Bug Triage (ubuntu-power-triage) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-ppc64le bugnameltc-178285 severity-high targetmilestone-inin1810 ** Tags added: architecture-ppc64le bugnameltc-178285 severity-high targetmilestone-inin1810 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1841488 Title: [Ubuntu18.10][Backport] Crypto VMX Fixes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1841488/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1802585] Re: NFS v4.0: Stale data after file is renamed while another process has an open file handle
I was able to reproduce this. Minor note, that you need to specify vers=4.0 in the mount options, nfs 4.1+ appears to not be affected by this. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Cosmic) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1802585 Title: NFS v4.0: Stale data after file is renamed while another process has an open file handle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1802585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
