[Bug 1934155] Re: fetchmail can no longer connect to underwood & gives false error msg (TLS issues)
Thanks for the report Bill and even more for the awesome and detailed explanations Matthias! AFAICS there is nothing in here for Ubuntu to fix "right now". As versions 6.5/7.0 are releases we will pick them up but that isn't what this bug was about. Gladly config based solutions were found to handle the problem, but I'll mark the bug as incomplete to auto-expire if nothing else needs to be added in your opinion. ** Changed in: fetchmail (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1934155 Title: fetchmail can no longer connect to underwood & gives false error msg (TLS issues) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fetchmail/+bug/1934155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1934574] Re: package freeradius-mysql 3.0.20+dfsg-3build1 failed to install/upgrade: installed freeradius-mysql package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: freeradius (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1934574 Title: package freeradius-mysql 3.0.20+dfsg-3build1 failed to install/upgrade: installed freeradius-mysql package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freeradius/+bug/1934574/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, unfortunately the logs you attached do not have much info that help debugging this. I can see it failed on install, but not what. Hi Celina, thanks for the info but that isn't the same issue that was discussed in this bug. Furthermore while enabling SMBv1 is a workaround to the problem you had it is considered a huge security risk and therefore should be a last resort and only for e.g. isolated environments. Hi. On 7/3/21 11:32 PM, Michael Kogan wrote: > This depends on your desktop environment, do you know which one you are > using? > I'm using the Ubuntu default. Attached is my "Settings/About" page. [Bug 1934616] Re: qterminal doesn't use correct .bashrc
I added mate-terminal as being affected as well, as I just attempted it there, and have the same issue. ** Description changed: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS - qterminal 0.14.1-0ubuntu2 (universe, amd64) + mate-terminal 1.24.0-2ubuntu1 I'm in the process of cleaning up my $HOME. Part of this process was to move all of bash's "junk" into XDG BaseDir compliant locations by specifying in .profile to look at $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/bash/ for the .bashrc file, etc. bash itself is handling the move just fine (e.g. it outputs its history to ~/.local/share/bash/history as commanded). I can go into a TTY and use aliases I specifically put into the new .bashrc (located at ~/.config/bash/.bashrc), etc. The problem is when I try to use said aliases in qterminal, it refuses to recognize this change and use the proper .bashrc. I'm sure this is an "upstream" issue, but their GitHub issue tracker essentially tells Ubuntu users to file issues here instead. [Bug 1915117] Re: [Regression] Audio card [8086:9d71] not detected after upgrade from linux 5.4 to 5.8
Following a discussion with Chris, I checked /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/ and discovered that /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/hda-dsp/ was missing. I created it and put the files from https://github.com/alsa-project /alsa-ucm-conf/tree/master/ucm2/hda-dsp in it. I then restarted the computer and selected the 5.10.0-1035-oem kernel provided by Chris. But the weird thing is that I've been unable to reproduce it in VM. And I also tried to reinstall most of the packages which, I think if changed/misconfigured would cause this but it didn't help. [Bug 1934608] Re: setcap does not recognize CAP_PERFMON
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1934608/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1834203] Re: Copying small files over CIFS doesn't close its window
So I finally moved to a new machine... loaded with Xubuntu 20.04.2... upgraded from my reliable machine still running Xubuntu 16.04. [Bug 1896250] Re: SDL support is missing while virglrenderer has problems with GTK
Nice, thanks ! I've got a new laptop in the meantime, where I will likely use Intel's GVT-g GPU virtualisation feature (my old hardware couldn't), hence no need for virglrenderer, but of course that's only me. Moreover, virglrenderer still has the advantage of being hardware-independent. Additionally, SDL has the advantage of completely grabbing the keyboard, as I remember having the problem that a Ctrl-Alt-Del wasn't caught using GTK (but maybe I don't remember correctly, because that sounds odd), while it clearly works fine with SDL. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1896250 Title: SDL support is missing while virglrenderer has problems with GTK To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1896250/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1934597] [NEW] Overlapping texts in Show Keyboard Layout window (RTL, AltGr)
Public bug reported: 1. In Region & Language settings, add a keyboard layout that contains RTL characters and uses AltGr, e.g. "Arabic (QWERTY)" or "Indonesian (Arab Melayu, ext. phonetic)". 2. Open the keyboard layout window by pressing the eye icon. Expected: on each key, the corresponding characters are displayed: - (A) without modifier: bottom left - (B) with Shift: top left - (C) with AltGr: bottom right - (D) with Shift+AltGr: top right Actual: there are keys which contain overlapping character, (A) and (B) are rendered on the right side, overlap (C) and (D) respectively. I've seen the source code somewhere in the past, it seems the text area for (A) and (B) fill the key width. It's okay when the text of (A) and (B) are short and LTR. However, if (A) or (B) are RTL, it is right aligned so it takes (C) or (D) place. So a simple fix probably by reducing (A) by half of the key width if there's (C) for that key, and so for (B) and (D). Firstly, this is not a pip bug, it's a failure for a package to build under pip, that's almost certainly the fault of the package or its build environment. In particular, it seems to be looking for mpi.h in the wrong place.
