It might have happened earlier but I don't know exactly when. It worked since around March 2013. I tried installing: * nvidia-304 * nvidia-304-updates * nvidia-319 * nvidia-319-updates * nvidia-331 * nvidia-331-updates in combination with both bbswitch or nvidia-prime. I also tried upgrading the kernel to 3.12. When running with nvidia-prime, the system didn't start at all - a graphics configuration error was reported and the xorg log showed that the nvidia driver couldn't be used. When running with bbswitch, the computer starts but optirun doesn't work. The error reported is: Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0 I haven't yet tried nouveau driver. I've booted from Ubuntu Trusty Live CD on USB stick. It didn't offer to install additional drivers (same as 13.10 and 13.4). I installed nvidia-331 and started nvidia-settings. It works, recognizes the cards and offers to switch between the performance mode (nvidia GPU) and standard (Intel). When running glxgears, I got very small refresh rate, so I assume it's not actually using the nvidia drivers and that I have to reboot to do that. However, it does work better than before - nvidia-settings wouldn't start in my configuration. Is this enough information? Can I help some more? Hey Cristopher, I only learned that the 331 drivers work in Trusty. But it doesn't solve my problem - running nvidia drivers in Saucy Salamander. Since they do work in Trusty, it seems the problem is with Saucy. So, having a fix would be nice. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks. Public bug reported: I noticed after upgrading to Saucy Salamander that optirun couldn't work with the nvidia driver anymore. It might have happened earlier but I don't know exactly when. It worked since around March 2013. I tried installing: * nvidia-304 * nvidia-304-updates * nvidia-319 * nvidia-319-updates * nvidia-331 * nvidia-331-updates in combination with both bbswitch or nvidia-prime. I also tried upgrading the kernel to 3.12. When running with nvidia-prime, the system didn't start at all - a graphics configuration error was reported and the xorg log showed that the nvidia driver couldn't be used. Public bug reported: I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, Ubuntu 11.10, the Broadcom STA driver installed. When starting ubuntu, the wireless doesn't connect and the message in the syslog is 4-Way Handshake failed - pre-shared key may be incorrect. I managed to make it work, sometimes by chance. Sometimes I stop the connection, kill wpa_supplicant and then try again and it works. If it works once, I can put the computer to sleep, move to another place and connect to a different network without a problem. See below a sample log. I've tried the fix to wpa_supplicant startup script but the daemon still has priority 0. I know this because I tried renice and it says it had priority 0. After renice, the wireless still doesn't work.
