[Bug 1866686] Re: 20.04 Xubuntu does not resume from suspend

2020-08-21 Thread Arham Amouei
I uninstalled xfce4-screensaver for another reason: The system took ~30
secs to suspend. By uninstalling xfce4-screensaver both the problems
disappeared.

[Bug 1866686] Re: 20.04 Xubuntu does not resume from suspend

2020-08-21 Thread Arham Amouei
Previously I saw a black screen after entering password, or I just saw
the lightdm window unresponding to mouse and keyboard events. Then I
"purged" xfce4-screensaver and now when I open the lid I enter my
password and it logs in properly.

[Bug 1889422] [NEW] Touchpad moves the cursor very slowly on ASUS F82Q

2020-07-29 Thread Arham Amouei
Public bug reported:

Previously, I used ubuntu 18.04 or earlier versions on this old laptop
without this problem.

When I was installing ubuntu 20.04 from a USB stick, I noticed that the
touchpad moved the cursor very slowly -- so slow that I had never seen
before. The system is dual boot. In the other OS, the touchpad works
fine.

To show the problem I have prepared two short videos (see the file
cursor-speed.zip). As can be seen in the videos, in both the "mouse
speed" and "touchpad speed" are deliberately set to the minimum in
"Mouse and Touchpad" settings. And in both I try to stop the video
recorder as fast as I can. These two videos compare the speed of mouse
with that of touchpad.

[Bug 1889189] [NEW] "Authentication Required" window after waking up

2020-07-28 Thread Arham Amouei
Public bug reported:

Hi. Sometimes (not always) when the computer wakes up after sleep, on
the desktop the "Authentication Required" window is shown at an unusuall
position, i.e. (top, left) coordinates = (0, 0). (see the attached
screenshot)

The worst part is that I enter my password and nothing happens and the
buttons do not respond. Then I restart the computer to get rid of it.

[Bug 1875292] Re: Double click on window titlebar pass through to what's below

2020-07-28 Thread Arham Amouei
I am facing a similar problem, but unlike the case of the bug reporter,
in my case it happens when "double-click on top bar of window to
minimize" feature is not enabled. I have never enabled that feature.

My original description of the bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888975

I'd like to emphasize that in my case if right behind the titlebar there
is another window (not desktop), the double click on the titlebar is not
transferred to that window or to desktop.

+ Hi. In ubuntu 20.04, whenever I double click on the titlebar of the
window of some programs (including: firefox, simplenote, geany, visual
studio code, etc.; excluding gedit, evince, nautilus, etc.), the double
click is transferred to the desktop. For example, if behind the
titlebar, at the (X,Y) position of mouse pointer, there is a folder
icon on my desktop, that folder gets opened.

However, if right behind the titlebar there is another window (not
desktop), the double click is not transferred to that window or to
  desktop.

[Bug 1367008] [NEW] gedit doesn't show english phrases containing punctuation marks in persian text correctly

2014-09-08 Thread Arham Amouei
Public bug reported:

As you may know, Persian is a right-to-left language. When I type an
English phrase containing punctuation marks in a Persian text in gedit,
what I see on the screen isn't what I expect. For example when I type

\commandname{new}

within a Persian (right-to-left) text, it is shown as

{commandname{new\

This makes reading and editing such texts difficult.

gedit version: 3.10.4
