[Bug 622920] Re: Intersil ISL3887 cannot connect to wireless network with latest Ubuntu
I'm having issues with an USB wifi stick with Intersil ISL3887 chipset on Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit with installed firmware for wifi. I get as far as successfully connecting and auth (using WPA2-PSK) but within seconds I get the following in syslog: wlan0: deauthenticated from c4:3d:c7:97:79:69 (Reason: 2) This is followed by disconnection and endless retries. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/622920 Title: Intersil ISL3887 cannot connect to wireless network with latest Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/622920/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 479597] Re: HP Mini 311 - Does not always boot
Unfortunately I still need to do the workaround described in #13 to make my Compaq/HP Mini 311 to boot Lucid 10.04. This indicates that the drivers in 2.6.32 isn't fixed after all? :( -- HP Mini 311 - Does not always boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 409621] Re: The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. During on a FreeNX server suring a session.
I've opened a bug report for the separate (but similar?) issue in #462257. -- The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. [Bug 462257] Re: NoMachine NX remote sessions doesn't get correct theme
Perhaps the issue can be isolated to libxklavier15, but haven't confirmation about the second workaround which implies that libxklavier15 is to blame. ** Package changed: libxklavier (Ubuntu) => gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) -- NoMachine NX remote sessions doesn't get correct theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 462257] [NEW] NoMachine NX remote sessions doesn't get correct theme
Public bug reported: As per request in #409621 I'm opening this new bug report. The issue is that remote sessions to a NoMachine NX Server doesn't get the correct theme. This has been present since release of Jaunty and is also present using Karmic and libxklavier15 4.0-4ubuntu5. Running gnome-settings-deamon in a terminal on the remote desktop yields: Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1037.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1037.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1037.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1037.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":1037.0". The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'. (Details: serial 105 error_code 1 request_code 150 minor_code 8) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) Reportedly there are two workarounds: 1. Create ~/.gtkrc-2.0 with lines 'gtk-theme-name="Human"' and 'gtk- icon-theme-name = "Human"' which forces the Human theme of course. 2. Downgrade to libxklavier15 3.9-0ubuntu1 I've verified workaround 1 The issue is also described in length here: http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1236402 ** Affects: libxklavier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- NoMachine NX remote sessions doesn't get correct theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 409621] Re: The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. During on a FreeNX server suring a session.
Hmm ok, but the end result of my issue is the same as described, "theming and icons display incorrectly." and I've been affected but this since Jaunty if I remember correctly. Is there anything else I could do to provide a better error report? -- The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. I'm using NX from NoMachine and I'm guessing this same problem happens with their client/server too. Anyhow, attaching the output I get from trying to start gnome-settings- deamon since it's slightly different from mabawsa. ** Attachment added: "gnome-settings-deamon-crash.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33835425/gnome-settings-deamon-crash.txt -- The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
