Sorry forget that - even though I tried apt-get remove ... and re-install it still didn't work, but it turned out there were stale chromium processes left around even after the remove. Please can someone give an idea of how to get this fixed. This has malfunctioned again in NZ. A lot of 502 Proxy error messages from various repositories, mainly security.ubuntu.com.
