[Bug 1941615] Re: fonts-fantasque-sans font displays numeric codes
Actually, the font typeface itself looks OK in the "Fonts" application, but it appears there are multiple copies of each version (e.g. multiple copies of Fantasque Sans Mono, Regular). I'm attaching another screenshot, because it looks pretty surprising. ** Attachment added: "Screen shot of the font in "Fonts" application" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-fantasque-sans/+bug/1941615/+attachment/5520538/+files/Screenshot%20from%202021-08-25%2011-41-30.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1941615 Title: fonts-fantasque-sans font displays numeric codes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-fantasque-sans/+bug/1941615/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1941615] [NEW] fonts-fantasque-sans font displays numeric codes
Public bug reported: As shown in the attached screenshot, the fantasque sans mono font displays hex codes in boxes rather than actual characters. In the photo, I'm using gedit. The first line of text says "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". To produce this bug, I installed the font from the package repository and tried to use the font on my system. In addition to gedit, the problem occurs in Gnome Tweaks or anywhere else I try to look at the font. I have a dual boot KDE and GNOME Kubuntu system, but I'm running in GNOME only. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but got the same issue. The issue affects all the fonts in the package, but none of the other fonts on my system. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Release:20.04 $ apt-cache policy fonts-fantasque-sans fonts-fantasque-sans: Installed: 1.7.2~alpha.3~dfsg-2 Candidate: 1.7.2~alpha.3~dfsg-2 Version table: *** 1.7.2~alpha.3~dfsg-2 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: fonts-fantasque-sans (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screen shot of what the problem looks like." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1941615/+attachment/5520537/+files/Screenshot_20210825_112614.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1941615 Title: fonts-fantasque-sans font displays numeric codes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-fantasque-sans/+bug/1941615/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1511157] Re: Unity command returns python error
I had problems with my system and reinstalled from a 15.10 CD to fix the problems. Now I can log into Ubuntu but Unity doesn't have a side menu or a top menu bar. [Bug 558872] Re: empathy accounts fail to connect after manually unlocking keyring
I have been struggling with this bug in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick (64 bit). I tried the following and it solved the problem. I went into System / Preferences / Passwords and Encryption Keys. I expanded the "Passwords: login" key and I clicked on the keys that were causing problems (in my case, anything related to Facebook and Identi.ca) that I couldn't connect to with Empathy. I pressed "Delete" on each one, to delete it. When I rebooted, I had to go back into Empathy and tell it the passwords that it should use to connect to those accounts for which I had removed the password from the Passwords and Encryption Keys dialog. Rebooting again, it now prompts me for my keyring password just one time. When I specify it correctly, it connects to my accounts in Empathy and sets my status to "Available". I hope this simple procedure works of others too. If so, then the developers should be able to use this information to narrow down exactly what's going wrong. [Bug 258899] Re: Flash videos on sites such as The Daily Show stopped working
I am having the same problem. It affects videos on the Daily Show and South Park web sites which have the same hosting company, it appears. They both have the same kind of "watch full episode" interface. I can reproduce this 100% in Konqueror, Firefox and Opera. I am able to use Flash and videos on numerous other sites. I have Hardy 8.04 Kubuntu, with KDE 4.1. Flash packages: - flashplugin-nonfree (9.0.124.0ubuntu2) - libswfdec-06.90 (0.6.4-2) - swfdec-gnome (2.22.2-1) - swfdec-mozilla (0.6.0-2ubuntu1) Java: - sun-java6-jre (6-06-ubuntu1) - sun-java6-bin (6-06-ubuntu1) Firefox Extensions - DOM Inspector 2.0.0 - GooglePreview 3.11 -- Flash videos on sites such as The Daily Show stopped working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
