[Bug 1911073] [NEW] libc6 package version 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 in ubuntu 20.04.1 - no traces of where it came from
Public bug reported: I installed `Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS` few weeks ago. So it's almost fresh install. I can't install libc6-dev: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libc6-dev : Depends: libc6 (= 2.31-0ubuntu9) but 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 is to be installed Here's what version the `-dev` package is: $ apt show libc6-dev Version: 2.31-0ubuntu9 Depends: libc6 (= 2.31-0ubuntu9), libc-dev-bin (= 2.31-0ubuntu9), linux-libc-dev, libcrypt-dev `Depends: libc6 (= 2.31-0ubuntu9)` looks good to me. apt-cache shows libc version is ok: $ apt-cache show libc6 Version: 2.31-0ubuntu9 However, `apt` differs: $ apt show libc6 Version: 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 apt can not tell where this version comes from `focal/main`: $ apt policy libc6 libc6: Installed: 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 Candidate: 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 Version table: *** 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 100 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.31-0ubuntu9 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 9.1 can only be found in `/var/lib/dpkg/status` however, neither in packages here: `http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/main /binary-amd64/` nor in `/var/lib/apt/lists/us.archive.ubuntu .com_ubuntu_dists_focal_main_binary-amd64_Packages` version `2.31-0ubuntu9.1` does not exist. Upgrade can be seen in the logs: 2021-01-02 21:02:03 startup archives unpack 2021-01-02 21:02:03 upgrade libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 2021-01-02 21:02:03 status half-configured libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9 2021-01-02 21:02:03 status unpacked libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9 2021-01-02 21:02:03 status half-installed libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9 2021-01-02 21:02:03 status unpacked libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 2021-01-02 21:02:04 startup packages configure 2021-01-02 21:02:04 configure libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 2021-01-02 21:02:04 status unpacked libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 2021-01-02 21:02:04 status half-configured libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 2021-01-02 21:02:04 status installed libc6:amd64 2.31-0ubuntu9.1 Is there a legitimate ubuntu repository with this package? [Bug 343094] Re: TB downloads entire mailbox multiple times.
Now i know how to reproduce it. 1. create new pop account. set it to leave messages on the server until i delete them. 2. download entire mailbox. 3. Fill all free space at your home mount point to 100% (probably copy several films or something.) Copy program should give you error message about "no free space left" 4. Send yourself new letter to account above. 5. Wait until thunderbird automatically checks mailbox. 6. Voila! [Bug 113201] Re: firefox spends lots of time hung
This bug affects me too. It usually appears on slow connections like GPRS or on connections which have some problems with DNS. Also it appears almost on all connections if i install dnsmasq. But i never seen it on Ethernet connections. When firefox hangs it consumes 100% of CPU. This bug appears when i open new tab, close old, or just switching tabs. Usually clicking on the links doesn't affect it. Running firefox -g and beraking during the hang reveals nothing. It usually breaks in different places but often i see js_Invoke. It is very annoying per se, but the worst thing about it is the short-living X Server windows which firefox uses alot. Say if i open new tab and quickly click on menu "File" firefox opens system-modal menu window and hangs and the entire X server becomes unusable (does not respond to my actions) until firefox resumes. I can't switch to another application, the panels do not respond to my clicks and so on. The duration of the hang depends on number of open tabs. If i open 50 tabs it will be about 90 seconds. When i have 10 open tabs it's about 15 seconds. -- firefox spends lots of time hung https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113201 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 376445] Re: "Empty trash" button still disabled when trash contains files.
Some time ago i had opposite situation: nautilus trash window works fine, but applet shows wrong number of trashcan items in tooltip. [Bug 376445] Re: "Empty trash" button still disabled when trash contains files.
Probably this related to gnome theme or russian language or both. In libnautilus-private/nautilus-trash-monitor.c:238 in update_info_cb there is following code: empty = TRUE; if (G_IS_THEMED_ICON (icon)) { names = g_themed_icon_get_names (G_THEMED_ICON (icon)); for (i = 0; names[i] != NULL; i++) { if (strcmp (names[i], NAUTILUS_ICON_TRASH_FULL) == 0) { empty = FALSE; break; } } } if (trash_monitor->details->empty != empty) { /* Change emptyness status and notify via signal everyone who cares. */ } I wonder why this code checks trashcan icon to see if the trash is full. Isn't there some trashcan API?! Let's look into code which works: trashapplet from gnome-applets. Yes there is such API, g_file_query_info(GFileInfo.G_FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TRASH_ITEM_COUNT): info = g_file_query_info (applet->trash, G_FILE_ATTRIBUTE_STANDARD_ICON"," G_FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TRASH_ITEM_COUNT, 0, NULL, &error); icon = g_file_info_get_icon (info); items = g_file_info_get_attribute_uint32 (info, G_FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TRASH_ITEM_COUNT); if (items != applet->items) { /* Update UI here. */ } -- "Empty trash" button still disabled when trash contains files. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376445 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
