[Bug 1844422] Re: WPA3-SAE support

2019-10-15 Thread Giraffe
It didn't work before, the password field being 'missing in action' is
something that started when I enabled WPA3 on my AP/Router and has
persisted.

I think WPA3 in general doesn't fully work with NM-Applet as of yet.

I am able to connect using WPA3 via via NMTUI, after which NM-Applet,
for instance, shows Security as "None".

fallout from this bug.

Using Xubuntu Eoan with 20.4-2ubuntu2 from proposed.

When connecting to my Wi-Fi network (which is set to WPA2/WPA3 mixed

[Bug 1844422] Re: WPA3-SAE support

2019-10-09 Thread Giraffe
@teunis,

The point is NM (when setting WPA3-Personal as the security protocol)
will ALWAYS pass "ieee80211w=0" this is NOT configurable on the client
even when setting PMF=2 in the config file.

The latest commit fixes this problem and thus is kind of important to
achieving the goal as set out in this bug.

[Bug 1844422] Re: WPA3-SAE support

2019-10-09 Thread Giraffe
@seb128
The Current version will not connect to WPA3-SAE secured Wi-Fi without that
commit (being able to connect to WPA3-personal secured Wi-Fi is the whole point
of this bug).

This is because 802.11w is mandatory for WPA3-SAE (though it can be
disabled for certain configs) and NetworkManager up and until 1.20.4
passes "ieee80211w=0" (which disables 802.11w).

[Bug 1840325] [NEW] linux-oem-osp1 Quadro

2019-08-15 Thread Giraffe
Public bug reported:

Dear sir/madam,

I'm running Lubuntu 19.04 (64-bit) on a Dell Precision-7510 (with a Nvidia
Quadro M2000M GPU).
(Since i'm uxing a Intel AX200 i must use the oem-osp1 kernel until Eoan is
released.)

The Quadro M2000M is governed by:
nvidia-driver-418 418.56-0ubuntu1
nvidia-prime 0.8.10

Ever-since upgraded to Kernel version: linux-oem-osp1 5.0.0.1015.16 i'm
experiencing a problem.

Since upgrading to kernel ver. 5.0.0.1015.16, the Quadro M2000M will not
power down, e.g. Powertop shows 100% power usage for the M2000M, even
though the "Intel" profile is selected via Nvidia-Prime.

Furthermore "sudo powertop --auto-tune" | does not resolve the issue.

When booting from kernel 5.0.0-1013.14, the Nvidia-GPU will power down just
fine.
I'm attaching output of DMESG

[Bug 1835001] Re: System does not auto detect disconnection of external monitor

2019-08-07 Thread Giraffe
Dear sir/madam,

I'm running Lubuntu 19.04 (64-bit) on a Dell Precision 7510 (with a
Nvidia Quadro M2000M GPU).

The Quadro M2000M is governed by:
nvidia-driver-418 418.56-0ubuntu1
nvidia-prime 0.8.10

I've just upgraded to Kernel ver.:
linux-oem-osp1 5.0.0.1015.16

Since upgrading to kernel ver. 5.0.0.1015.16, the Quadro M2000M will not
power down, e.g. Powertop shows 100% power usage for the M2000M, even
though the "Intel" profile is selected via Nvidia-Prime.

When booting from kernel 5.0.0-1013.14, the Nvidia-GPU will power down
just fine.

I'm guessing this problem was introduced by this changeset. I do not
know if this problem warrants a new / seperate bug, if so i'm happy to
create a new bug.

[Bug 1809224] Re: To support Intel Wireless-AX 22000 series

2019-07-01 Thread Giraffe
I'm running Disco 64-bit and my AX200 currently does not work with the
stock kernel (5.0.0.20.21) and linux-firmware (from proposed: 1.178.2).

Should i open a separate bug or is this bug valid for Disco as well?

2018-07-02 Thread Giraffe
Unfortunately this is a production server and i can't keep rebooting the
thing and upgrading and downgrading kernels indefinitely.

If it's absolutely critical to fixing this issue i am, however, willing
tot setup a identical VPS and run apport-collect.

[Bug 1779761] [NEW] Ubuntu Kernel 4.15.0-24.26 causes php7.2-fpm.service to hang at boot

2018-07-02 Thread Giraffe
Public bug reported:

After updating the kernel on my QEMU based VPS running 18.04 Server to
kernel ver. 4.15.0-24.26 i noticed that php7.2-fpm.service was't
starting:

● php7.2-fpm.service - The PHP 7.2 FastCGI Process Manager
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/php7.2-fpm.service; enabled; vendor

 Docs: man:php-fpm7.2(8)
  Process: 595 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/php-fpm7.2 --nodaemonize --fpm-config

 Main PID: 595 (code=killed, signal=TERM)

'timeout'.
jul 02 13:38:07 www systemd[1]: Failed to start The PHP 7.2 FastCGI Process
Manager.

Setting timeout of php7.2-fpm.service to 300s i and running systemd-analyze
blame, after rebooting, i noticed that php7.2-fpm.service takes about 3 minutes
to start:
sudo systemd-analyze blame
  2min 54.715s php7.2-fpm.service

This issues is persistent when running kernel 4.15.0-24.26, i have tried
multiple reboots.

After downgrading to Kernel ver. 4.15.0-23.25 the issues is gone.
Again I've tried multiple reboots of the server running 4.15.0-23.25 and
PHP7.2-fpm.service starts withing seconds after rebooting.

sudo systemctl disable nvidia-fallback

the last set of commands have to be re-entered after reboot but it gets

[Bug 1635996] Re: Libreoffice temporarily hangs / freezes Ubuntu 16.10

2016-12-05 Thread Giraffe
Christopher,

I've been using the Intel DRM Nightly build of 2016-11-26
(4.9.0-994.201611252100), for some time now and last Saturday while
using LibreOffice Xubuntu froze again.

So the Nightly build, at least the build i was using is also affected by
this issue.

Should i add the results (Nightly being affect) to the Tags or are the
Tags reserved for RC and mainstream kernel versions?

Chritopher,
When you look at the contents of:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/2016-11-12/

You will notice that there are no "*AMD64.deb" files that can be
downloaded since the builds targetting AMD64 failed to build.

The same goes for:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/current/

So i'm unable tot test those kernels and report back.

[Bug 1635996] Re: Libreoffice temporarily hangs / freezes Ubuntu 16.10

2016-10-31 Thread Giraffe
Christopher,

I can't really say, the first thing i did when i encountered this issue
is try the default kernel, the one that is shipped and maintained by
Canonical.

Noting that the issue also occured with the default kernel i ruled that
out as a cause and went one trying to find a solution.

So in short, i haven't really kept track of improvements or worsening of
the problem running different kernels. I only confirmed the problem also
happens using default kernel.

Is this something you want me to test?

[Bug 1635996] Re: Libreoffice temporarily hangs / freezes Ubuntu 16.10

2016-10-30 Thread Giraffe
apport information

** Tags added: ubuntu

** Description changed:

Using LibreOffice-Writer and running of the IGP ( (Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD
Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) / Mesa 12.0.3 ) causes LibreOffice and the Ubuntu
Desktop interface to become unresponsive every few minutes. This freezing will
last for about five seconds before everything works again.
When i keep typing while everything freezes the text will appear after the
system becomes responsive again.

This only happens when i use the Intel HD Graphics 530 IGP. When using
the Nvidia Quadro M2000M GPU and it's Nvidia driver for the graphics
  everything is fine.

[Bug 1635996] Re: Libreoffice temporarily hangs / freezes Ubuntu 16.10

2016-10-27 Thread Giraffe
apport information

** Attachment removed: "JournalErrors.txt"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1635996/+attachment/4768314/+files/JournalErrors.txt

** Tags added: third-party-packages
