[Bug 245911] [NEW] Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch]
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkb-data Hello, I'm attaching a patch for the us file of symbols, to add two more layouts for Qwerty and Dvorak which add a very simple way for the casual Esperanto typist to type Esperanto's non-ASCII characters. [Bug 245911] Re: Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch]
That should be possible to some extent, and it shouldn't be that hard. In my opinion, features like adding euro to e, break when you switch to a layout like Esperanto or USA - Dvorak. So it's hard to me to test my own work if the reference is broken. I may look into it when I have more free time. At the moment I'm trying to create some packages to put in my PPA, so people can start using these layouts without having to apply any patches or wait for some possible inclusion in future Ubuntus. -- Add Esperanto chars to keyboard layout [patch] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/245911 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 260696] [NEW] Rotating a read-only image fails silently
Public bug reported: Ensure that you have a read-only image on a directory on your home (the directory was not read only). A little lock appears on the image, but for someone as my wife, that means nothing. Open the image with the default viewing program. Rotate the image, the viewing program just rotates it for your viewing pleasure. Close the program and the process of permanently rotating the image fails silently. Possible solutions: - Refuse to rotate (agh!). - On closing or moving to the next picture, make a pop up window saying that image could not be saved (probable the easiest way to solve this bug, but not very nice). - On rotating show a pop up (same as before) - On rotating show a "status bar" like that for remembering a password on Firefox which is excellent explaining that the rotation operation will be lost because the image can't be saved. Alternative, add a button that should appear at that moment to try to make the image writable. That would make a lovable GUI. I'm sorry, it seems the original report was wrong and I'm not sure why or how, I can't remember exactly what happened when I reported the bug but I can show you when eog auto-saves: 1- Open image (by double clicking it on Nautilus). 2- Click the curved arrow to rotate. 3- Click the next or previous arrow to move away from the picture. -- Rotating a read-only image fails silently https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260696 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 282548] [NEW] Eye of Gnome incosistent auto-save
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog Eye of Gnome auto-saves when moving away from an image by clicking the right or left arrow but not when closing the image. I believe the two actions should have the same auto-saving policy as it is possible for someone to open an image, rotate, next, rotate, next, rotate, close; and surprisingly, the last one will not be rotated. If I played designer a little bit, I'd do this: 'open an image, rotate, close' should prompt for saving; 'open an image, rotate, next, rotate, close' should auto-save silently. It seems like the most natural behavior. Another possibility is to just prompt a dialog "Do you want to save? Yes|No [ ] Don't ask me this again." ** Affects: eog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Eye of Gnome incosistent auto-save https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282548 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269507] [NEW] Connect to a webdav folder, not server

[Bug 263338] Re: Better file copy mechanisms are needed between filesystems (offer rename)
I'd really like a renaming option. KDE offers it, when you pick rename it automatically appends "-2" to the file name before the extension and allows you to customize it even further, letting you remove bad characters. Recognizing the target filesystem and marking the characters to be removed in red should be possible. [Bug 305309] [NEW] Layout options get lost
Public bug reported: I have some custom layout options for my keyboard (and two keyboard layouts, USA and USA Dvorak). After a while, the layout options seem to go away, no longer working. I have: - Adding Euro sign: letter e and number 5. - Compose key position: right alt - Layout switching: both shifts together. - Third level chooser: right ctrl.
