[Bug 1943534] Re: Add kernel version to 'About' page in Settings
I don't have a clue on how to get that information. All I see is that when I update VirtualBox on Windows 10, the guest additions CD for Ubuntu guest refers to the kernel version. Besides that, I am clueless. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1943534 Title: Add kernel version to 'About' page in Settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1943534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1826409] Re: [19.04] Input method (keyboard) not respected
IRC discussion on #UBUNTU-DEV today [15:28] marcoagpinto: i'm not actually sure which component to file against. maybe ubiquity - the graphical installer, which should ensure that your chosen defaults pertain on the installed system. [15:28] marcoagpinto: i'm also not yet 100% sure i consider this a bug, thus want to try and reproduce it. can you tell me whether you bios or uefi booted, and tell the exact version you installed? [15:29] I tried moving the input source up and now it appears "pt" in the login screen [15:30] but, the input method should always be taken from what we select in the install DVD [15:30] I selected "Portuguese (Portugal)" during install, but I had to add it manually in the desktop [15:30] it only had US there [15:31] and you didn't have two keyboard schemes listed on the installer in the end, just pt? [15:31] so, it didn't respect my install choice [15:31] I installed in English and selected pt keyboard during install [15:31] but there was no "pt" when I booted from the HDD [15:32] so, it only installed the EN keyboard [15:32] thus my password didn't work because the keyboard EN != PT -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826409 Title: [19.04] Input method (keyboard) not respected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1826409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1826409] Re: [19.04] Input method (keyboard) not respected

[Bug 1826409] [NEW] [19.04] Input method (keyboard) not respected
Public bug reported: I installed 19.04 in a VM using VirtualBox 6.0.6 from the .iso image (Live DVD). I selected "English" as the language and the input method I selected was "Portuguese (Portugal)" which is my keyboard layout. I created a password with special characters. However, when we get to the login screen, the keyboard is automatically the one from the language installation, so the special characters always give a wrong password warning. After I found a way of matching the special characters with the English keyboard, I get into the desktop and insert a Portuguese input method in the settings and change it in the top right of the window to "pt". However, in every boot, in the login screen we still have "en" although "pt" appears below it if we click, but I have to change on every boot to "pt" since Ubuntu doesn't remember it. Basically, this bug report is about the keyboard layout that uses the installation language and not the keyboard we select during installation. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826409 Title: [19.04] Input method (keyboard) not respected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1826409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
