show a dialog and bring the already running ekiga to the foreground.

I had this conversation about this bug on IRC this morning:

Treenaks The only place I've seen those buttons working is using a special
driver from the manufacturer, in skype, in windows
fabbione Treenaks: it's a skype phone.. they used to have a driver for linux
too
Treenaks fabbione: but I don't want skype, I want ekiga ;)
fabbione let me rephrase
fabbione skype wrote a linux driver for the keys
fabbione no matter for what app you use it
Treenaks fabbione: there's a Yealink driver for some kind of Skype phone in
the kernel already, but that doesn't work for this device

[Bug 20283] Re: [X700] Really bad sync on HP NW8240

2007-03-08 Thread Martijn van de Streek
** Summary changed:

- [fgl v5000] really bad sync
+ [X700] Really bad sync on HP NW8240

** Description changed:

+ I have a HP NW8240 laptop, 1920x1200 screen, with a ATI X700 graphics
+ chip.
+
The ati driver doesn't seem to know how to talk to this chip (PCI-E ATi
FireGL
V5000, PCI ID 1002:5653) correctly, so the screen is refreshing weirdly and
blinking (like a CRT with bad sync sometimes does, but less overlapping
garbage).

Manually setting xorg.conf to use the fglrx driver (no other changes) makes
X
work OK, though there's no direct rendering.

[Bug 90181] python-libbtctl package doesn't contain anything

2007-03-06 Thread Martijn van de Streek
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-libbtctl

telepathy-blue depends on python-libbtctl for talking to bluetooth
devices (SMS). There's a slight problem with the package though: it
only contains a /usr/share/doc directory (with contents), no python
files.

This makes telepathy-blue completely useless. There's also no 'version-
dependent' version of the package (python2.x-libbtctl) in which the
python files live.

It's an usb device, so lspci won't give you more info.

I've added all relevant lines from the kernel log ('dmesg'); I haven't
found ways to make lsusb more verbose..

So please specify which information you need _exactly_.

[Bug 82451] Re: (Feisty) DBUS hangs after Gnome Login

2007-02-05 Thread Martijn van de Streek
It seems to happen when trackerd is not yet ready to accept requests yet
(I think it's validating its index), but deskbar initializes its tracker
bits.

For some reason, this makes it try to start another trackerd (according
to my trace), which exits immediately because another trackerd is
already running (from /etc/xdg/autostart). This exiting generates an
untrapped error in the Python code.

Killing deskbar after login, and then reloading it (trackerd is done
validating its cache by then), makes it work.

[Bug 82451] Re: (Feisty) DBUS hangs after Gnome Login

2007-02-05 Thread Martijn van de Streek
If I remove deskbar, and login, nothing hangs.

If I start deskbar before trackerd is done checking its cache, a python
error is triggered (uncaught exception, something about starting
trackerd) and it hangs.

If I start deskbar after trackerd is done, everything is fine.

[Bug 70705] Re: Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly

2007-01-10 Thread Martijn van de Streek
No, all servers are currently up.

You can fake it by getting the .asx I linked to, and changing the first
URI to a place that gives you Connection Refused (I changed it to
'http://localhost:12345/).

I've attached a 'fixed' (I've done the - amp; conversion, so that's
not a problem anymore) version of the live64.asx, but with
http://localhost:12345/ instead of http://switch.streamgate.nl/; which
breaks it again: it won't skip to the second stream when the first
stream gives a 'Connection Refused'.

My Dell DXP051 has an Intel HDA on-board sound chip.

The mixer behaves oddly: there is no 'master' channel, but the channel
named 'Surround' controls the master volume, and the PCM volume slider
doesn't seem to do anything.

This breaks several applications that want to control the volume
(because they can't find the master channel, or the PCM volume twiddling
doesn't change the volume)

[Bug 72079] Keys of USB handset not working

Public bug reported:

I have an USB handset (it's a voip phone: an USB soundcard with some
keys for dialing), which works fine in Windows.

In Linux however, only the sound part works correctly. I get the popup,

_something_ HIDish is being connected, but pressing keys on the device
(numbers, or the 'mute', 'call' etc. buttons) doesn't result in events

[Bug 70705] Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly

2006-11-07 Thread Martijn van de Streek
Public bug reported:

Dutch public radio is available online, using some kind of windows audio
stream. Usually, this works correctly in Totem, but today it didn't.

Nothing has changed in the asx files, but one of the listed servers
seems to be down. Instead of failing over to the next server, totem pops
up an error claiming Connection refused (which is wrong, it's 500:
Internal server error).

If I use the Windows mediaplayer, or play the alternative directly, it
works correctly.

Yes.

is in Dutch.

Other way around make the app show up in Dutch, with the banner in
English.
