[Bug 543836] Re: rt2870 wireless card cannot connect to WPA network
Hi, can confirm, just installed the newer driver as described in #10 and it worked with my network-manager settings - never touched RT2870STA.dat Interesting why still no Ubuntu developer is able/wanting to patch current kernel - not even a comment. Ok, it would take them 5-10 minutes ... but I understand, it seems to be funnier to see all the people fighting with this bug. :) -- rt2870 wireless card cannot connect to WPA network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543836 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 543836] Re: rt2870 wireless card cannot connect to WPA network
As somebody mentioned the solution is to install the latest driver from ralink page. I can't understand why Ubuntu devs are not willing to update the kernel module and ship it. This bug is now open for more than 3 months, a solution was found, and nothing happened... that's how you make using ubuntu a pain instead of fun for the masses. -- rt2870 wireless card cannot connect to WPA network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543836 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I unplugged the dongle, unloaded the driver with "sudo rmmod rt2870sta" and followed step 1-15. of this guide: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=960642&highlight=rt2870sta and it works again -- rt2870 wireless card cannot connect to WPA network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543836 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Monkey, why do you set this incomplete=? What more than a proper bugreport and screenshots do you need? Well here is a link http://templates.joomlapolis.com/demo/mycommunity/j15/ . Just check it out yourself. The site looks different with other browsers and FF on Windows (the widths of the search and login/password input boxes). The problem still exists. [Bug 365733] Re: Jaunty - Wireless issue causes laptop shutdown to hang indefinitely
Hi, don't get me wrong. But why isn't this issue patched on the current stable release. I am sure there are thousands of people out there who are angry because their Ubuntu does not shutdown properly. I wonder why the "userfriendliest linux approach" is of no importance here. Sorry but Ubuntu claims to be easy to use and instead of solving the issue with an update people should find docs and hack their system to get backports? Something is wrong in Ubuntus strategy. I installed Ubuntu on my R61 because I had no time to compile Gentoo, I regret it already ;-) -- Jaunty - Wireless issue causes laptop shutdown to hang indefinitely https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/365733 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, same here, seems to be a wireless card issue. After switching it of with the shortcut button the system halts. Even if not in use but activated no shutdown runs smooth anymore. [Bug 366321] [NEW] firefox-webdeveloper broken / special chars broken
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-webdeveloper Hi, after upgrade to ubuntu 9.04 amd64 (from 8.10) the firefox-webdeveloper toolbar is broken again. It was broken at the beginning of 8.10 too but was fixed arount the 3.0.6 release of FF. Now it is broken again and also special characters as äöü are broken too. dist: Ubuntu 9.04 (Linux ndee-tp 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux) pkg: firefox-webdeveloper-1.1.6+repack-1ubuntu1, firefox-3.0.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1 (i am using the german version) What I expected: Selecting Information->Display element information should give you a crosshair. When you click on e.g. on a anchor tag the yellow/orange info table should pop up overlaying the site. What happened: Instead of the crosshair only a standard cursor is visible. On clicking on a tag or css element the table is not shown, no style is applied to the table and the info output which shows up overlaying the site is attached to the bottom of the site (without any style - very hard to read) see screenshot. It worked on ubuntu 8.10. There are also special sign (äüöß...) errors in webdeveloper toolbar which were not present in 8.10. thanks in advance ** Affects: webdeveloper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 firefox -- firefox-webdeveloper broken / special chars broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366321 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 46834] Re: Shutdown fails - system hangs at "deconfigure network devices"
after some deeper investigation, I figured out, why all those problems related to kernel-2.6.15-25 came. Running the automatic updates just updated the kernel, but did not replace the correct modules. After uninstalling all old kernels, images, headers and modules and installing all the latest stuff in synaptic, everything seems to be solved. No major problems anymore related to kernel. Looks like, this is an issue for the guys who maintain the update dependancies :-) For me, this issue is solved so far. -- Shutdown fails - system hangs at "deconfigure network devices" https://launchpad.net/bugs/46834 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

same happens here on compaq nx8220 when booting 2.6.15-25 - in 2.6.15-23 everything works well.
