[Bug 550856] Re: page size setting is broken, use it as default crop or fix it by other means
Simple scan 3.20.0 on ubuntu 16.04 does not consider a4 size as default now. It scans A4 size but saves the resulting image with a blackportion at the top end. I had no issues earlier and it used to take a4 setting as default when set in edit-preferences but not now. Some upgrade has affected it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550856 Title: page size setting is broken, use it as default crop or fix it by other means To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/simple-scan/+bug/550856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 429035] Re: [Karmic] Intel Pro/Wireless 3945BG (driver: iwl3945) disconnects frequently at random
Had a similar problem with Ubuntu 9.10, Lenovo T60, intel 3945Aabg, iwl3945 driver. It worked with 9.04, I suppose because Network Manager was disabled (and I think this was by default). I know I had tried to enable NM with 9.04 but it didn't work so I just shut it back off. I think it sort of worked with NM sometime prior to 9.04, but I always had to re-enter the WPA key every time I rebooted. Upgraded to 9.10 and discovered NM was re-enabled and I could not get wireless working (using WPA2-PSK). I was getting this: Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[2169]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[2169]: Trying to associate with 00:16:01:91:d2:67 (SSID='JDNET' freq=2412 MHz) Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[2169]: Association request to the driver failed Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[1263]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop kernel: [ 645.444256] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:16:01:91:d2:67 Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop kernel: [ 645.450565] wlan0: authenticated Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop kernel: [ 645.450569] wlan0: associate with AP 00:16:01:91:d2:67 Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[2169]: Associated with 00:16:01:91:d2:67 Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[1263]: No network configuration found for the current AP Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[2169]: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys Jan 30 19:47:38 davisjs-laptop kernel: [ 645.452836] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:16:01:91:d2:67 (capab=0x411 status=0 aid=2) Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop kernel: [ 645.452840] wlan0: associated Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop kernel: [ 645.455624] wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3) Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[1263]: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys Jan 30 19:47:38 davisj-laptop wpa_supplicant[1263]: WPA: No SSID info found (msg 1 of 4). To make a long story short, I installed wicd and life was good. No muss, no fuss, just installed, rebooted, and wireless linked right up. My Lenovo wireless never had anything but problems with NM. To be fair, I never really dug into what might be causing the issue. It is possible that had I gotten into the NM config files I might have gotten it working, but I really didn't have the time or inclination to do so. -- [Karmic] Intel Pro/Wireless 3945BG (driver: iwl3945) disconnects frequently at random https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429035 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 369372] Re: totem crashes when opening any movie file after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04
Totem crashes whenever any multimedia file is played --this happenned after upgrading to 9.04 from 8.10. Before this the ubuntu 8.10 system used to work fine. I can play mp3 etc audio files in the rhythmbox player. When i am playing such files in rhythmbox, then totem can be opened to play any multimedia file. (audio or video). But as soon as file playing gets over in rhythmbox, totem crashes after playing the file to the end (ie. the file can't be replayed in totem after file playing is stopped in rhythmbox or rhythmbox is closed). Therefore it seems that rhythmbox opens some multimedia socket file that is also used by totem which allows audio/video files to be played properly without crashing either application. But when totem tries to open any multimedia file on its own, the default channel used by totem crashes it. This is what comes in xterminal when i try to open a multimedia file with totem without using rhythmbox --totem crashes and shows the output below in xterminal /var/lib/python-support/python2.6/gdata/tlslite/utils/cryptomath.py:9: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead import sha The program 'totem' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 82 error_code 11 request_code 132 minor_code 19) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) -- totem crashes when opening any movie file after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 369372] Re: totem crashes when opening any movie file after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04
/var/crash does not show anything. Maybe its because totem just closes OR it just aborts OR in other words exits with error code 11, request code 132, minor code 19. This same error comes even with vlc. Only the serial number of the error reported changes. -- totem crashes when opening any movie file after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 486965] Re: DATA SORTING IS BUGGY in ascending and desending order for any 2 columns
Confirmed. The first column has the data which has an extra space in some places due to which OOcalc was seeming to sort incorrectly. I was trying to find the extra space in the 2nd column and it took me some time till i converted the spreadsheet to csv format and looked at the data in a text editor. Can such mistakes not be allowed to occur if oocalc removes forward and trailing whitespace automatically in columns? Would this be a requested feature or is this functionality already implemented in oocalc? Thank you for helping sort the problem. However, further double-checking revealed that there is a slight error in column A. Most of the values are dr. visit, but some of them are dr. visit with an extra space. When deleting those spaces, the columns sort correctly. It is an easy mistake that occurs often. Therefore, I will be setting this bug report as Invalid. [Bug 486965] Re: DATA SORTING IS BUGGY in ascending and desending order for any 2 columns
Pls see files attached. 1.ods is the example spreadsheet containing only 1 sheet. The 3 screenshots are as follows. Before-sorting.png shows the data as it was. Sorting is then done by column A and then by column B (both in ascending order). Result is seen in after-sorting.png which clearly shows that the data is still unsorted with respect to column B The sorting is then done by column A in ascending/default order and by column B in descending order. Re: [Bug 221633] Re: 3945ABG wireless card dosen not work with 8.04
I haven't seen a fix for this bug, but you can make it work. It didn't work with 7.x either. What I have found with my T60 is this: The Thinkpad wireless LED does not work with Ubuntu. Don't let this throw you. It is on if the switch is on, the LED just doesn't work. I use WPA2 encryption. Every time I boot into Ubuntu I find that it has reverted to WPA. I have to manually change it to WPA2 and copy/paste the encryption key in order to get it to connect. If you still have problems check the syslog. Also try ifconfig wlan0. If you are still having problems send me the relevant syslog messages and the output of the ifconfig command. [Bug 221633] Re: 3945ABG wireless card dosen not work with 8.04
I am using a Lenovo T60, and I thought it wasn't working either. I finally discovered after looking at the logs that it does work, but that the wireless LED does not work. However, I have a problem with the network manager. I am using WPA2, and after I select WPA2 and put the passphrase in, it works. However, when I go back into the network manager it has reverted to WPA. And after rebooting, I have to go back into network manager, select WPA2 AND put the passphrase in again to get it to connect. Also, I am unable to enter anything into the nm-editor. -- 3945ABG wireless card dosen not work with 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221633 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
