The inability to seek in some players is due to Sound Juicer not generating seektables. You can run a script that will correct files that you've already ripped (attached). Just execute it in the root of a directory containing a lot of flac files; it recursively searches and adds seektables. Have you installed any plugins? I've heard of people having Firefox crash when some plugins are installed. #2 Can you make sure Firefox isn't set to delete private info on closeout? (EditPreferencesPrivacyAlways clear my private data when I close Firefox should be unchecked) Also, can you double-check to make sure it's set to actually remember passwords (Under the Security tab in preferences), and that you don't have any sites in the exceptions list? #3 I don't have any idea how to fix this one, but if your browsing profile is constantly being erased, that'd definitely cause your issues in #2. By default, pidgin uses a door icon next to a person's name in the main contact window when they sign in or sign out. It also uses sounds to signify a sign-in/sign-out, assuming your status is not set to away (which disables sounds). If you wish, you can also go into the Tools menu and configure a Buddy Pounce to launch a pop-up window when a particular buddy signs in or out (the details are configurable). This is similar to Buddy Alerts in AIM. How does a manual workaround fix this bug? Unless somebody is subscribed to this thread or hunts around the KDE forums, they won't know about it. Chances are that even if they do, they won't wanna go through the steps to wipe their seek tables and create new ones. I don't think this should be marked invalid as it is an actual reproducible bug.
