[Bug 1226369] [NEW] suspend to ram and resume do not work from menu item but do work running pm-suspend
Public bug reported: Late 2012 reatina MacBook Pro 15" running Ubuntu 13-04 amd64+mac. Nvidia driver 319.49 installed. Running gnome-shell 3.6.3.1 Laptop is set to suspend when the lid is closed. When using the gnome-shell menu and clicking on suspend nothing happens at all. When I close the laptop lid the system suspends. On resume the system resumes to a grey screen, no desktop, but the system is running as I can ctrl+alt+t and enter sudo reboot and my password and the system will reboot. >From a normally running desktop I can open a terminal and run sudo pm-suspend >and the system will immediately suspend. When suspended in this manner the system will resume to a normal working desktop on demand. [Bug 1132522] Re: [Apple Inc. MacBookPro10,1] suspend/resume failure
An update Mine is now using Nvidia'a 319.49 driver and suspends and resumes normally if I actually select suspend form the menu. [Bug 1132522] Re: [Apple Inc. MacBookPro10,1] suspend/resume failure
My hardware is a recently bought brand new MacBook Pro 10,1 with 2.3GHz and 8GB ram. System will suspend but on resume will sometimes boot to a desktop but is completely unresponsive. Most of the time, however, it just remains at a black screen and must be force shutdown and rebooted to gain any use. If any further details or logs are required I am willing to send them, though I may possibly need some help in that regard. As has previously been said a laptop without the use of suspend is largely useless and I for one would appreciate some improvement. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132522 Title: [Apple Inc.
