[Bug 1836176] Re: Touchscreen stops working after S3 suspend on Lenovo X1 Yoga 3th
There's a better workaround (method 3) now suggested on the arch wiki page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lenovo_ThinkPad_X1_Yoga_(Gen_3) It works with Ubuntu as well; you can test it when the touch screen isn't responding with: sudo apt install acpi-call-dkms; sudo modprobe acpi_call; echo '\\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC._Q2A' | sudo tee /proc/acpi/call -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1836176 Title: Touchscreen stops working after S3 suspend on Lenovo X1 Yoga 3th To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1836176/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1836176] Re: Touchscreen stops working after S3 suspend on Lenovo X1 Yoga 3th
usbcore.quirks=056a:5146:m also failed for me (with 19.10 and focal); I read on the Arch wiki that disabling Thunderbolt in the bios (under Security -> IO ports) might work and tried it, and it worked! [Bug 476870] Re: Middle-click randomly kills synergyc
I found that, to summarize... if I have a 9 button on the mouse on the server, but the client only has a 3 button mouse, synergy will crash when I use one of those extra buttons. As some others have noticed, it's whatever the last mouse used had. As a work around for me -- and this is nowhere near a "good" solution, but it beats losing my keyboard and mouse every time Synergy crashes -- I add a "trackstick.fdi" file to /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ : true 2 4 5 26 27 true 200 32 (I have a trackstick identified as "PS/2 Generic Mouse" on my Vaio P, obviously.) This lets me do vertical scrolling while holding the middle mouse button down, and since I don't have buttons 26 and 27 assigned to do anything, doesn't let me scroll horizontally with the trackstick (still works fine via Synergy.) The "Buttons" parameter seems to be ignored. All the other buttons that are missing -- 8 and 9 for my mouse -- also work fine. Obviously this kind of kludge won't work for other people, but hopefully it will help. -- Middle-click randomly kills synergyc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476870 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 462267] Re: battstat applet is missing
I can see that it was removed deliberately, and reading the reasons it seems understandable. I would like to point out that the battstat applet is a very different thing from the g-p-m. It was an applet that could be moved and rearranged, the current charge could be displayed on the panel, the percentage, time remaining were options, it had a horizontal display option, and so on. The g-p-m appears in the notification area. It is not added by "add to panel." It is not the same type of thing and shows far less data. Saying it uses deprecated methods or has too many bugs is one thing, but please do not promote the g-p-m as a replacement -- the two are not the same at all. I ran into this in the beta and RC and was hoping it was a bug -- please, *please* remove "battstat applet" from the list of things provided by the gnome-applets package since it has actually been removed from the things provided by said package. Right now, someone (like me) who runs into this *problem* will think it an accident rather than a deliberate move. -- battstat applet is missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462267 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269656] Re: AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP
Ok, does this seem familiar to anyone else? Mozilla is waiting until a distro is just about to ship then slapping them with demands they either have to give into quick or do a lot of work to get around. First they did it with Debian, and now with Ubuntu. Why are the distros putting up with this crap? [Bug 135658] Re: synergy+glipper causes clipboard to stop working on WinXP client
This happens in Ubuntu 7.10 (AMD64) as well, and is not limited only to Synergy on Windows machines -- all connected clients do not work if the machine running the synergy server is also running Glipper. There are no issues if you run Glipper and then run Synergy in client mode as long as the server is not running Glipper. No idea what causes this, but my "workaround" is to run Klipper instead of Glipper on the server; it's not GTK, but they work the same way, and it does not conflict with Synergy. -- synergy+glipper causes clipboard to stop working on WinXP client https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 82099] Re: Sounds are taken over by java programs
I had/have a similar problem as well, although in my case, like Thomas Detoux's, killing java gave me sound back. I was able to "fix" it by using the ALSA wrapper for OSS applications (package alsa-oss, command is aoss) before launching java. I was losing sound even when the java program I was running did not use sound, although not right away.
