[Bug 1878453] [NEW] Optimized svg can not be saved.

2020-05-13 Thread Set Hallstrom
Public bug reported:

Saving an SVG to optimized SVG fails. No other feedback available than a prompt
message stating:
"File /home/set/setto-logo-dark.svg could not be saved."

Installed scour because i remember that solved it from a previous
similar issue, but it didn't resolve this time.

Starting Inkscape from the terminal didn't give me more information.

Thank you Laney!

@Steve Langasek: Yes, i believe Ross has applied but didn't get approved
this round. As you know it's a process and the main issue we face in
that respect is the current size of the team and finding new engaged
people with actual devel-skills.

2016-09-20 Thread Set Hallstrom
** Description changed:

- We have made changes to ubuntustudio-default-settings:
+ We have made changes to ubuntustudio-default-settings:
  - Merging ubuntustudio-lightdm-theme in it
  - Switching to numix-blue theme for the dekstop and for lightdm.

These changes were made prior to UI freeze but were not uploaded. The
last user with upload-rights had to move on a bit impromptu the day
before UI-freeze, hence this request for exceptional sponsorship.

+ Update: here is the PPA
+ https://launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/+archive/ubuntu/autobuild
+ But there is not yakkety builds in there yet.
+
+ Here are the source branches:
+
https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/ubuntustudio-default-settings/trunk
+
+ https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/ubuntustudio-lightdm-
+ theme/trunk
+
Please bare with me since it is the first time i do this, i couldn't
quite figure how to do the debdiff... Let me know if there is anything i
can do to make things easier for you.

  Thankful regards,
  Set

[Bug 1619067] [NEW] Exporting slice in SVG respects hidden rectangle's size, not its area

2016-08-31 Thread Set Hallstrom
Public bug reported:

When exporting to plain-svg, inkscape respects the size of the slice-
rectangle, but not the area.

Steps to reproduce:
1.) Draw a shape
2.) Add a layer on top, name it export
3.) Draw a rectangle over the shape drawn in step 1.)
4.) Give shape ID-name: "slice-ID"
5.) save the file as inputfile.svg
6.) in the terminal, type the following command:
inkscape --export-id=slice-ID --export-plain-svg=slice-ID.svg inputfile.svg

expected result:
slice-ID.svg has the size of the slice-rectangle and the shape drawn in step
1.) is positioned in it as expected.

result: slice-ID.svg has the size of the slice-rectangle but the shape
drawn in step 1.) is _not_ positioned in it as expected.

(On a side note, feel free to read my bug report as a wish for plain-SVG
support in the "export" window with the same "Batch-export" check box as
for PNGs.)

hi,
I reached out to the debian maintainer who acted super quickly, hence the
latest version is now in debian. I will do my best to arrange an SRU and ask
for a ppos-FF to land it in yakkety.

[Bug 1579536] Re: "Querying installed files" process on start-up takes abnormally long (~20minutes)

2016-08-26 Thread Set Hallstrom
Hi guys!
Thanks for looking into this. when i tested it yesterday in yakkety beta 1, i
noticed it worked considerably better. That is; at a normal speed, considering
the rather large collection of font we ship by default in Ubuntu Studio.
However this doesn't justify shipping an old semi-broken version when there
have been considerable improvements made upstream. For my own work i use the
PPA and the energy that has been placed into making font-manager better is
amazing, (thank you Jerry and your team for that!)

The Ubuntu Studio team is very small, but i'll see if i can find someone
willing to package/maintain it in debian and i will certainly reach out
to the SRU-team. This piece of software is too precious in a graphic-
design workflow to be left out. But i agree that we should not ship a
broken version. That would just become a bug-tracker nightmare.

I'll be in touch!

[Bug 1616854] [NEW] When Jack is enabled, volume is affected by 2 sliders and desktop slider only controls one

2016-08-25 Thread Set Hallstrom
Public bug reported:

The Pavu output mixer presents 2 sliders in the output panel:
- the soundcard
- jack sink

The volume slider on the desktop only affects jack sink, hence if the
soundcard slider is all the way down, no sound is output until pavu is
opened and the soundcard output level is manually adjusted. The keyboard
volume buttons have the same effect.

[Bug 1594814] [NEW] NetworkManager looking for signal strength in 'wlan0' instead of the apropriate 'wlxc46e1f1abe34"

2016-06-21 Thread Set Hallstrom
Public bug reported:

I get this error in my log a lot:
"Jun 21 15:04:00 basspistol NetworkManager[834]: [1466514240.9769]
(wlan0): error getting signal strength: No such device"

My wireless device (TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless N Nano USB Adapter) is
getting a very funky name: "wlxc46e1f1abe34". It's not too much of a
problem since the connection is established and working, but it renders
the wifi-strength icon as if it was receiving maximum signal strength.

Restarting the network-manager with: "sudo systemctl restart network-
manager.service" solves the problem.

Not sure if it is related, but i am also affected by this bug:

Expected result: Deployable folder containing a Web Gallery is exported
with lightbox capabilities.

[Bug 1572127] Re: When I use Blender on lubuntu, it crashes by overload

2016-05-16 Thread Set Hallstrom
In user preferences, under the "File" tab, you will find a field
labelled "Save Versions". Here you can choose how many auto-save files
blender should keep. To enable auto-save, still in the user preferences,
under the "File" tab, tick the "Auto Save Temporary Files" box (should
be set by default), to adjust the auto-save interval, use the field
bellow labelled "Timer (mins)".

If you set the "save versions" to "3" and the timer to "5", in the same
folder where your .blend is saved, you will after 5 minutes you will
have a file called .blend1, after 10 minutes, a file called .blend2.
These are basically "backups" to recover your session.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 1579536] [NEW] "Query of installed files" process on start-up takes abnormaly long (~20minutes)

2016-05-08 Thread Set Hallstrom
Public bug reported:

When starting font-manager it queries the installed font files. Until
16.04 this process has been fairly fast. Since 16.04 it takes up to 20
minutes, and looks like the app died: loading bar gets stuck and
switching the window back from the background shows an empty window.

2 ways to reproduce:

a)
- launch font-manager
expected result: font-manager loads quickly and is ready for operation
result: font-manager faints a crash but is in fact alright after 20 minutes
querying the installed font files

b)
- once launched, install new fonts
- press "reload now" when prompted
expected result: font-manager loads quickly and is ready for operation
result: font-manager faints a crash but is in fact alright after 20 minutes
querying the installed font files

[Bug 1572249] Re: Errors in /usr/share/gnome-background-properties/ubuntustudio-wallpapers.xml : missing attributions and erroneous file-path

2016-04-28 Thread Set Hallstrom
User Krytarik has made a good list of things to do that are directly
related to this bug, a few improvement/optimization suggestions and
written a clean verison of the XML file. I paste it here so that it will
be easier to find:

  - debian/ubuntustudio-wallpapers.links:
* Link to 'usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/ubuntustudio',
  rather than 'backdrops' directly

  - usr/share/gnome-background-properties/ubuntustudio-wallpapers.xml:
* Correct various file names (LP: #1572249):
  - '1604_USStairs_BeateSchroder-Wettwer'
  - '1604_USCarbon_CoryKrontros.png'
  - '1604_Wallpaper1_AdamTuba.png'
* Replace '1604_NightLights_AlbertoSNovella' entry with correct
  '1604_SoundOfLight_PushkarDeshpande' one (LP: #1572249)
* Add attribution to some contest entries (LP: #1572249)
* Add Macinnis wallpaper
* Fix some of the pretty names
* Order entries properly

XML up to here:
http://paste.openstack.org/show/RawNZ4CQBvABORzNE7RC/

  - usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntustudio/nsmail.png
* Optimize file size to JPG

  - usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntustudio/macinnis_wallpaper.png,
usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntustudio/nsmail.png,
usr/share/backgrounds/ubuntustudio/ubuntustudio-gutsy.png:
* Rename files properly
* Adapt XML, AUTHORS, and 'debian/copyright' as needed

* ubuntustudio-look (plymouth-theme-):

  - Create version of 'ghostcolor' without CoF for background

[Bug 1572938] Re: Connected to wifi, the indicator behaves odly

2016-04-22 Thread Set Hallstrom
When the icon is wrong i AM connected, but if i get disconnected at that
point, the only way to get back on-line is by using "connect to hidden
network" since the indicator will not show any wifi in range.

On my laptop, deleting all known networks and rebooting solved my issue.
On my desktop, this didn't help and i'm still struggling with the bug.

I will try using unity and report back. The attached files to this bug
are from my laptop, i will report it from my desktop too.

[Bug 1572938] Re: Connected to wifi, the indicator behaves odly

2016-04-21 Thread Set Hallstrom
After reboot, the wifi icon is there. But when i restart the net-work
manager, i get the Ethernet icon again and the list of wifi-networks in
range is gone again.

Steps to reproduce:

- Click on the wifi icon in the indicator
- Uncheck "Enable Networking"
- Check "Enable Networking"

Result: The Network-manager reconnects to the network, but gives no list
of networks in range and the icon is the one for Ethernet.

Expected result: The Network-manager reconnects to the network, shows
list of networks in range and the icon is the one for Ethernet wifi.

Thank you Gunnar!
I chose English as system language, but i picked Swedish for the
keyboard-layout in the install prompt of the live-boot. I am afraid i am still
too unexperienced to tell you more. Hopefully Kaj will be able to further
detail the situation. Let me know if there is any other command output i can
provide you with

Hi Victor! It looks indeed as it is the same bug, sorry: it slipped me
by. I did search the existing bugs, but obviously not well enough. Will
try harder next time! :) I'm still very blue to the Touch system, hence
i couldn't figure out which package was affected. Thank you for your
time!

my bad Volodya; i misread the bug report. i'm on ubuntustudio thats
probably why i have the ARandR. I've been told ARandR has been replaced
by XFCE display (the entry that you have in settings manager) I'm afraid
i can't help you more than this. Best of luck tho!

I was unable to reproduce the bug with a single screen, nor a dual screen.
Volodya: maybe there is an overlap in your ARandR settings? I'm just doing a
wild guess here, but if you havn't already check it: you will find the ARandR
settings in the Settings Manager in the "hardware" section.

[Bug 1196339] Re: Firefox Open Containing Folder opens Audacious instead of File Manager

2015-01-06 Thread Set Hallstrom
I've had this bug since 13.04. After upgrading to 14.04, and still having it, i
made a clean install of 14.04 and it was gone.
I looked at th patch in #7, and while my fresh install isn't having this
problem, i noticed that my

/usr/share/ubuntustudio/applications/defaults.list has
indoe/directory=nautlius-folder-handler.desktop

/usr/share/applications/defaults.list has
inode/directory=nautilius.desktop

What i am trying to say is, my fresh install is now working, but in my
case it doesn't seem to have much to do with
/usr/share/ubuntustudio/applications/defaults.list nor
/usr/share/applications/defaults.list

Nautilius is not installed on this machine.

Re: [Bug 1208204] Re: indicator-sound no longer functions with xfce4-indicator-plugin

2013-11-23 Thread Set Hallstrom
Hi guys!

Better safe then sorry, so i thought i might remind that the sound
preferences for pulse are now under:

main menu = Audio Production = Mixer And Card Control

Perhaps your sound is routed to another device in the pulse control? It
sort of make sens if you can see the sound in the VU meter :)

yours,
Set

Thank you very much for your quick response guys, really appreciated.

Of course I reapplied #5, the result was the same I used to have: The
applet starts to work, but you have no sound. The funny thing is that
when you open the sound preferences, the graphic shows you the sound
bars going up and down with the music, you can see your music, but you
 cannot hear anything.

This is the output of the automated patch:

  ./status.1208204.sh
 status.1208204.sh: Patch/Unpatch status follows
 status.1208204.sh: Patched
 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 369 nov 23 14:21 indicator-sound.service
 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 110 nov 23 14:21 indicator-sound.service.ORIGINAL
 status.1208204.sh: End

Yes, reinstalling is anoying but I cannot see another solution. On the
good side: I made a full backup on 2013-11-19 to clean install xubuntu
Saucy, so this time, for me, it is not a big deal.
