[Bug 988576] Re: Wlan connection continuously disconnects
I've tested the newest kernel (3.6.0-rc1) and the problem persists. Christopher, if you isist I will also try the alpha of ubuntu 12.10. There is an upstream bug for this issue: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39082 Although the uptream bug was never marked as fixed there is a proposed fix which is inlcuded in 3.6.0-rc. Since this bug appears to affect only me and Kris the source of this bug might also be the firmware of the access-point. Unfortunately I do not have a second access point to test. Given that there has been a lot of developement on the affected kernel module (iwlwifi) which has led to no change I believe this is the most probable expaination. Therefore, I mark this bug as invalid. [Bug 988576] Re: Wlan connection continuously disconnects
I've checked upstrem if there is an existing bug. [1] seems to be related. In [1] the speed of wlan is very unstable. This corresponds to what I experience with kernel 3.0.0-17. Now, with kernel 3.2.0-23 or newer this issue seems to have become worse and no packets get though anymore. I can now remember that I had the issue with unstable wlan speed long time ago. Since I had permanently disabled n mode I didn't notice the bug until now. Disabling n-mode solves the described issure: sudo rmmod iwlwifi sudo modprobe iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 You can permanently disable n-mode by issuing: sudo echo "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1" >/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf I would definitely like to report my issues upstream. However I'm not sure whether to open a new bug or append to [1]. What is your recommendation? [Bug 576378] Re: After resume from suspend battery icon shows depleted regardless of charge
I believe, the cause of this bug is that the acpi changes the units in which it reports the battery-status after suspend. After Booting [code] cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info [/code] delivers the remaining capacity in mA. If you suspend your PC and wake it up then the units become mW for a short while. Later on they are, again, reported in mA. Hey knuutsen, the current version of 8.10 works with Kernel 2.6.25 (however I don't know if support won't be dropped). This kernel supports all Hardware- Components of the 6715s, including WLAN. Hi, Leann, hi everyone. I've tried around a bit. I found out, that when booting with the option nohz=off my system works completely normal. Thus the problem is not apci, but the Tickless option. I also tried to compile the vanilla kernel (2.6.25-rc9). The same problem apperared. Thus this is not an ubuntu specific problem. If you like you can mark this bug as invalid or whatsoever. I am sorry for bothering you. It would however be great if this problem could be fixed, such that eighter the Tickless-option is automaticaly disabled or the probem is solved.
