[Bug 202046] Re: Cario_paint can NOT paint composited GtkTreeView context at Hardy
This is actually not a bug. You are not expecting composited toplevel windows to appear magically. You expect a compositing manager to do this. Just like this, you'd have to implement a compositing manager inside your application/toolkit if you want subwindows to be properly composed. I did quite some hacking on aldegonde to implement some fancyness (to check if it works at all) - and this was exactly what I had to do. And then everything's fine. Just traverse down the widget tree and compose the windows to their parents. -- Cario_paint can NOT paint composited GtkTreeView context at Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202046 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 113588] [edgy] Fails to detect free disk space > 2GB
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: arj I just wanted to create a backup of a large folder (5.8 GB). I bought a 500GiB disk to have lots of space for backups. I kept the disk with the preformatted fat32 which doesn't allow files larger than 4 GB. Tar wasn't able to create the archive as it ran against the maximum file size boundary ("File size limit exceeded"). So I remembered ARJ from the late-nineties and remembered its superb multi-volume capabilities. [Bug 24250] Re: Doesn't honor gnome proxy settigs
I still don't think that the gnome proxy settings should be what update- manager should look at for several reasons: 1. I might run update-manager with root permissions (remember: I might even do this without a proper intention, because all the update tools need superuser priviliges) - then there's no way to access the gnome proxy settings of the user anymore 2. The technical reason: update-manager serves (in a rough view) as a front-end to apt. Listening to the gnome proxy settings is nice, but as long as the apt-settings are not correct (or - by mistake or intention - apt and gnome have different proxy settings), update-manager should still use exactly the same mechanism as apt does. Use case: set up a local apt proxy for Ubuntu and use an http proxy to forward all apt-requests to is, but the default web access is provided by the plain router setup. -- Doesn't honor gnome proxy settigs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/24250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 90439] Re: gnome-launch-box 0.2 is out
Reasons to take 0.2: * 0.2 contains at least a fix for bug 69783 as well as bug fixes for other known problems * it is updated to use GtkRecent instead of EggRecent (which have different file formats); so 0.2 will integrate better with GTK 2.10 based GNOME releases. * g-l-b 0.2 is easier to use (you just need to add it to your session, no fiddling with keyboard short cuts anymore) * g-l-b 0.1 is *very* old. The current package contains a huge diff between 0.1 and some svn revision. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity This problem appeared at least on the IBM ThinkPad X41 Tablet and the Lenovo X60s as they don't have a CD/DVD drive. I booted the Ubuntu Live System from a USB Pendrive and installed Ubuntu using the graphical installer. The installation created a file /etc/fstab with a mount point definition for a CD/DVD drive (will attach the file). This file specifies a file system (udf,iso9660). As the notebooks don't have a CD/DVD drive, plugging in a USB pendrive results in assigning /dev/sdb to the USB drive. As the file system is already specified in /etc/fstab, I can't mount the pendrive as a user and get an error message about a wrong filesystem or bad superblock. "sudo mount /dev/sdb /media/usbdisk" works but I don't think that this is the way it should be. Okay, then it's a googlemail problem. [Bug 72318] Re: Doesn't update conference server
Well it's quite easy. You need to have two Jabber accounts having different default conference servers: jabber.org and google talk both use conference.jabber.org, but you can try jabber.belnet.be (they seem to have their own conference server). The you do this: 1. Open the Buddy List Window 2. Main Menu: Click on Buddies -> Enter Chat 3. Select one of your jabber accounts 4. Take a look at the entered conference server 5. Select the other Jabber account 6. The conference server is still the same 7. Select an ICQ/IRC/etc. Account and the second jabber account again 8. You see the expected server -- Doesn't update conference server https://launchpad.net/bugs/72318 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73497] Network Manager disappears when Gnome Panel crashes
Public bug reported: 1. kill -SEGV `pidof gnome-panel` (Simulate a gnome panel crash) 2. see the bug buddy window 3. close it (as we broke it intentionally); you see a new panel 4. The new panel doesn't contain the network manager 5. [Bug 73496] Doesn't keep in panel if the panel crashes
Public bug reported: 1. kill -SEGV gnome-panel (Simulate a Crash in the GNOME Panel) 2. The panel will come up again after the bug buddy dialog is closed 3. The power manager will flow around in its own window instead of the new panel 4. [Bug 73490] Doesn't appear in Yelp
Public bug reported: With Yelp it's possible to search for »docbook« and the open the Docbook book, but it doesn't get listed in the help topics in Yelp. [Bug 72318] Doesn't update conference server
Public bug reported: When I want to start a jabber chat and I don't want to use the first registered jabber account, switching the conference server to the default from the second one is very tricky. Eg. my default server is "conference.somedomain.com". When I change the account to my googlemail one, the server remains. When I switch to an IRC account and then back to the googlemail jabber account the default server switches to "conference.jabber.org". Proposed solution: As this might be considered "a feature, not a bug", the GtkEntry should be replaced by a GtkComboBoxEntry with the default servers so one can easily switch. ** Affects: gaim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Doesn't update conference server https://launchpad.net/bugs/72318 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71055] Bubbles don't disappear
Public bug reported: If a bubble pops up at the position where the mouse cursor is located, it doesn't disappear anymore.
