[Bug 1012291] Re: USB disconnect
One last point, this is a USB 3 drive being plugged into a laptop (Dell Precision M90) which only has USB 2. None of the external USB hard drives I use on this laptop have this problem. Just though that may help? Please let me know if you need any further information or would like me to perform any tests as I would be more than happy to do so as this problem is driving me nuts! [Bug 1087418] Re: NVIDIA FX2500 Broken
I have now had to rebuild my laptop and now running 3.5.0-17-generic kernel and all is working again. [Bug 554172] Re: CUPS and other system services not starting at boot
So here is the strange thing, periodically my printer is available so CUPS must start under certain circumstances. It is not very often but occasionally my printer is there. I will try and work out under what conditions CUPS is starting. There is not many times I moan about open source as I am a huge fan of everything open source. However, if an organisation rolled out 10:04 and their users could not print, I think they would be amazed at how long this is taking to fix. Maybe it is just affecting a few people who run a certain type of system? I am getting a Dell Mini 10 in a week or so, so I will install 10:04 on that and see if I get the same issue. I am happy to upload any log files which may help. -- CUPS and other system services not starting at boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554172 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 554172] Re: cups not starting at boot
I have run 10.04 through Alpha and did not see the problem even after 10.04 was released. I only had the problem after the first official update to the live 10.04. I continually have to run sudo service cups start to start the printer. [Bug 497299] Re: upstart not starting init-scripts (event net-device-up IFACE=lo missing)
Just come here from bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/554172. Cups is not auto starting since I updated with the first major patch release for 10.04. Just updated again and still cups will not auto start. Now have to start it manually every time I want to print. [Bug 560903] Re: brasero assert failure: *** glibc detected *** brasero: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08fdd340 ***
I downloaded valgrind and opened up the Brasero but I cannot get it to crash under valgrind. As soon as I load Brasero on its own, I can force it to crash! Could this be something to do with valgrind causing the slowdown of the application? To make it crash, I start Brasero up without a CD in the drive. I then click on the "Audio project" button. I then insert a CD into the drive. As the CD drive is imitating the CD disk, I click on "Project", "New Project", "New Audio Project" Brasero closes (sometimes with an error other times just closes). Hope some of that helps? -- brasero assert failure: *** glibc detected *** brasero: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08fdd340 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560903 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
