[Bug 1613027] Re: Network scanner not detected by xsane after kernel upgrade
I experienced the same problem, with ubuntu 14.04 last year in November. My scanner was no longer detected by xsane (and other scan apps.) The model is 'Canon MX870' multi-function and is connected via LAN with a fix ip-adress to the network. After some weeks the problem disappeared by system updates! Since I installed ubuntu 16.04 I have the same problem again. My scanner is not detected by xsane and other scan applications! It looks like an still unresolved issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1613027 Title: Network scanner not detected by xsane after kernel upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1613027/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1447719] [NEW] system deadlock after hiberbate wake up
Public bug reported: above behavior is 100% reproducible since new installation of Ubuntu 14.04 (no upgrade from 12.04). [Bug 156788] [gutsy]Using Network manager causes packet losses with wired ethernet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome I recently installed Gutsy on my desktop that was earlier running on Feisty. It is an AMD64 Machine with an Nvidia Chipset It ran flawlessly under Feisty. Soon after the fresh install I began to notice that i was getting timed out from ssh connections on my local network on a random basis. Then i checked by pinging various hosts and found that there was packet loss on every host i pinged (upto 70%.same packet loss if i pinged multiple hostseach of them had the same packet loss)). I figured that some network device on my network was misbehaving and decided to replicate this on my notebook(feisty) after powering down the desktop . Notebook was working fine. It was then apparent that the fault lay in the desktop( somewhere). I tried to make a new profile in the network manager but the drop-down box would not drop down and so I could not make a new profile. I then installed Wicd (http://wicd.sourceforge.net/). This removed network manager completely. After installing Wicd and setting up the IP's.everything worked perfectly. So I am assuming that something in the Network manager was causing the network card to reset every now and then. or it was switching the profile on and off. I started the upgrade to Dapper from the gnome update menu. Then about 570 Mb files where downlaoded. Along the installation procedure the mentioned error message was displayed. The return value for the installation procedure was displayed = 1. There was no other informations. I am in the comfortable position to have a bare test machine without any OS and user data. On the test machine I installed Breezy without any additional packets (like Mozilla Browser Thunderbird, codex for videos installed by Automatix and other packages etc.) Now on the test machine the upgrade from Breezy to Dapper was succsessful.
