[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
During different states of updates in Ubuntu 14.04 I experienced all bugs from original bug description (pairing works, but no audio) and also from comment #1 and comment #4 (pairing does not work, no devices found). This actually solved my problems: sudo mv /etc/bluetooth /etc/bluetooth.backup sudo apt-get install --reinstall bluez After a reboot everything is working again. The /etc/bluetooth directory is empty now. If this does not work for you, just move back the bluetoth.backup directory to it's original place. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283003 Title: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control-center/+bug/1283003/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
Same problem for me. No devices found. Until and including Ubuntu 13.10 no problems with bluetooth audio. Of course, hardware key for WiFi and Bluetooth is activated. State On and Off in Unity Bluetooth menu and Bluetooth dialog seem to be not in sync. If I change one of them, the change is not reflected in the other. [Bug 581395] Re: Rhythmbox: Error while saving song information. Internal data stream error.
It seems like rhythmbox damages the files while causing error while saving song information. After a fresh install of Ubuntu Maverick with Rhythmbox 0.13.1 on a new multicore laptop I experienced the same bug again on a freshly oggenc-encoded .oga file. After that I checked the file playback. It played in rhythmbox, but it failed in totem. So I checked the freshly encoded file with ogginfo: ogginfo /home/suu/srv/music/repositories/1/items/1021/13.oga Processing file /home/suu/srv/music/repositories/1/items/1021/13.oga... [Bug 581395] Re: Rhythmbox: Error while saving song information. Internal data stream error.
By the way I've got the original 2+ .oga files on a file server within their original state after creation. They all were created 6 months ago via flac / metaflac --add-replay-gain / oggenc. As precaution no editings after that. I learned from previous tagging bugs of amarok several years ago, that damaged hundreds of songs. I checked the original files with ogginfo: The original files are *not* damaged. The local copies on laptop only were played and edited in rhythmbox. [Bug 581395] Re: Rhythmbox: Error while saving song information. Internal data stream error.
As an experiment I tagged 55 undamaged .oga files with rhythmbox, got only one error message and 55 damaged .oga files. This, as mentioned before, only happens when rhythmbox's music library contains a big number of files (in my case now 2+), not with only a few hundred files. Ok. After playing around a while with alsa, I managed to make my soundcard unusable. Now, on every restart the soundcard was muted and I had no control on the volume, as stated above. Now I followed this guide: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=843012 I found out, that sudo alsa force-reload did the trick. Immediately the soundcard was able to output audio files. After the next restart there was no sound, again. The pulseaudio mixer was set to 0. I set it to 100 and voilĂ , I had audio output. I thought, now it's solved. Let's try a restart. After the restart I had the first problem again. A muted soundcard with no possibility to unmute. Pulseaudio mixer and any other mixer weren't unmuted or set to 0. No question, sudo alsa force-reload did the trick again. But this should only be a temporary solution. Pulseaudio should play better with alsa, or alsa with pulseaudio, or both with the soundcard. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: pulseaudio ubuntu jaunty 9.04, updated from ubuntu intrepid 8.10, newest updates, pulseaudio 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu20.1, alsa-utils 1.0.18-1ubuntu11 In intrepid pulseaudio and alsa worked fine.
