[Bug 1179606] Re: No video (black screen) with Me TV 1.4 and VLC 2.1

2014-04-20 Thread alter.cat
Ignore my last post -- according to previous bug, device was just kept
busy (I assume by previous me-tv session?), a simple reboot got it
sorted. Working now.

 Thanks

[Bug 1179606] Re: No video (black screen) with Me TV 1.4 and VLC 2.1

2014-04-20 Thread alter.cat
removed the installed version and installed me-tv 1.3.7 from Ubuntu's software
center.
It doesn't work... it complains that "There are no DVB deviced available" ,
which obviously are there, since me-tv was working until two days ago.

How do I debug this? Any idea of what to do?

thanks in advance

Having the same problem after upgrading Ubuntu to 14.04 LTS Trusty Thar.

Any easy solution that doesn't require recompiling me-tv?

[Bug 478761] Re: failed to start scanner: Invalid argument

2012-07-07 Thread alter.cat
I installed today a Brother MFC-J6510DW , an all-in-one device. Printer was not
a problem at all, and works fine. I managed to install the scanner using the
drivers provided in Brother's website, but xsane doesn't seem to communicate
very well with it. I'm using it over the network -- so no cable present.

Basically, it has worked a couple of times, always as root through
sudo, both running directly xsane and over the Gimp. But most of the
times I get after a certain waiting time a message saying "failed to
start scanner: Invalid Argument".

 Any ideas?

[Bug 923487] Re: Me TV freezes while importing channels.conf

2012-06-05 Thread alter.cat
Hello,

After updating to Ubuntu 12.04, me-tv which had been "kind of working"
until now, started freezing after launch. Resize, record, full-screen or
any other command would not work, although the first channel continued
to play.

So I updated to 1.4.0.9 using ppa.
Following comments in other posts, I deleted me-tv's database and created a
new channels conf using "w_scan -ft -c DE >> channels.conf". I attach the file.

At the moment, me-tv crashes / doesn't respond any further when trying to
import channels.conf file. I attach the console output after running
"me-tv-client -v".

Hope this helps and something can be done...
