[Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-05-26 Thread da_coynul
Hoping for a fix but in the meantime, here is a way to automate the
workaround:

Thanks to studoret for the idea!

[Bug 445872] Re: disable-disconnect-notification option ignored

2011-10-28 Thread da_coynul
Can someone explain why this patch:

lp341684_device_sensitive_disconnect_notify.patch

does not use the function applet_do_notify_with_pref () to display
disconnected notifications? You can see where it was removed by the
patch:

- applet_do_notify_with_pref (applet, _(Disconnected),
- _(The network connection has been
disconnected.),
- nm-no-connection,
-
PREF_DISABLE_DISCONNECTED_NOTIFICATIONS);

The above function checks the value of
/apps/nm-applet/disable-disconnected-notifications before displaying the
notification.
The code from the patch does not:

...
info-text = _(Disconnected - you are now offline);
...

Just to clarify my above comment, I meant that this patch:

is probably also the cause of bug 835972.

[Bug 835972] Re: after resume the Disconnected - you are now offline notification doesn't disappear

2011-10-28 Thread da_coynul
OK, I built and tested network-manager-gnome (nm-applet) with these
patches reverted:

lp341684_device_sensitive_disconnect_notify.patch
lp358526_generic_disconnected_notification_icon.pa tch

This prevents the notification from staying on the screen until manually
closed. You can also use this command:

gconftool-2 -s /apps/nm-applet/disable-disconnected-notifications true
--type bool

to disable disconnected notifications (or set it to false to re-enable
them).

I am not really sure why the patches are being included in the current
package anyway. They do no seem to be necessary. Can someone from the
network-manager team please explain?

UPDATE: This bug appears to be caused by a regression in the i915

using the 3.0.4 kernel with the patch applied. See bug report and

[Bug 872652] Re: screensaver backlight stuck off, system looks hung

2011-10-19 Thread da_coynul
I am experiencing this problem on my Acer Aspire 5740 laptop running
Xubuntu without xfce4 or gnome power manager installed. As Joshua Rubin
mentioned in comment #17, the bug can be reproduced by just blanking the
screen with xset. The problem does not happen when the screen in
blanked in a TTY. Is it possible this bug is not actually in power
manager but elsewhere in Gnome or in Xorg?

[Bug 429413] Re: No way to customize the launchers in the 'Favorites'

2009-11-07 Thread da_coynul
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 424822 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424822

I don't think this is the same issue as Bug #424822 which deals with
netbook-launcher icon changes not being reflected in Favorites. As a
matter of fact, this bug report really needs to be clarified because you
can, in fact, change the icons in the launcher using menu editor. These
changes do appear under the original sub-menu, just not in Favorites.
The original bug reporter does not specify where he/she expected these
changes to appear.

[Bug 424822] Re: Karmic A5: changed icons don't show up in Favorites

I can confirm this. App icons added to favorites are scaled rather than
native resolution despite changing the icon using the main menu editor
as detailed in the original bug report.

I can confirm this bug. It does occur intermittently - seemingly at
random on my desktop but never on my laptop.

Like the original poster's, my xsession-errors contains these warnings:

gnome-session[6520]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-wm.desktop' failed to
register before timeout

** (nautilus:6682): WARNING **: Unable to add monitor: Not supported

but nothing else last time I checked.
