[Bug 293207] Re: Conversion of existing mailboxes fails silently

2009-01-09 Thread dardar
Might be, although keep in mind that I had the problems going in the
other direction: backup was made on a 64-bit Hardy system, and I was
restoring to a new 32-bit Intrepid system. I don't know enough about
the differences to know whether or not this would be an issue. Still,
you're probably right that this could be important. (It may also
explain why upgrades seem to work fine, since by definition, these will
always be either 32 to 32 or 64 to 64.)

[Bug 280216] Re: Switch user resuilts in "Cannot start new display" error

2009-01-08 Thread dardar
I am also having this problem, typically when I wake my computer up from
suspend. The system starts up with a password screen for the user who
was active when the machine was suspended. That person can log in, but
the "switch user" button just causes the system to go back to the
screensaver, with the original person logged in. I think that Ctrl-Alt-
Backspace will generally restart X, but that also kills all of the other
logins.

I have a completely up-to-date Intrepid i386 system. Compiz is enabled.

Attaching output of `sudo lspci -vvnn` and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file

Also of interest may be that when I run: $xprop | grep WM_CLASS

I get: WM_CLASS(STRING) = "Navigator", "Firefox"

Should this be "gnome-session", "Gnome-session" as shown by the original
poster? Maybe this is a clue as to what has gone wrong.

I am also pretty sure this problem disappears if I fully reboot. Seems
to mainly happen after cycling through suspend mode.

Thanks for your help!
