I thought it was a lot more frequent. You could try using Ubuntu without the restricted driver for a few days and see if the issue persists. If it does not, than we have a starting point. You should have a look at the HDD's S.M.A.R.T. status using smartmontools. [Bug 372812] Re: Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek
There is also something wrong with the cd drive (sr0)... Is the CD drive working? Is there a damaged CD in it? -- Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 372812] Re: Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek
When do they happen? How often? Is there something that triggers it? Did older version of Ubuntu work fine? Maybe you could try reinstalling using ext3. Ext4 is quite new, so it could be the source of the problem. -- Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 372812] Re: Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek
I thought it was a lot more frequent. You could try using Ubuntu without the restricted driver for a few days and see if the issue persists. If it does not, than we have a starting point. You should have a look at the HDD's S.M.A.R.T. status using smartmontools. You could also try to listen to the sounds the HDD makes during these freezes/hangs. :) Maybe it is trying to spin up again? -- Ubunutu Freeze at random time for 10-60sek https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 381586] [NEW] Add a warning to the interfaces file that interfaces present in this file won't be managed by network-manager
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ifupdown There are a lot of people seeking help, because they followed some old "how to" and their network interfaces became unmanaged. A warning at the top of /etc/network/interfaces could help this situation. Example of such a "how to": https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ADSLPPPoE (following this will turn off DHCP on eth0 and make it unmanaged) ** Affects: ifupdown (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Add a warning to the interfaces file that interfaces present in this file won't be managed by network-manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381586 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for your report. To be able to fix the hotkeys on your laptop we need three things: 1. What the key *should* do. 2. What keycode (magic number) the key produces on your laptop. 3. How to identify your laptop by the manufacturer and model. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HotkeyResearch ** Changed in: ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Laptop Team (ubuntu-laptop) -- Brightness control doesn't work on Amilo mini UI 3520 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
