[Bug 630748] Re: iwlagn degrades quickly during normal wifi session

2010-10-17 Thread kennymchansen
when running
$ rfkill list all
i get:
0: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
2: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
6: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

When running:

$ rfkill unblock 0

I can enable wifi again.

Any idea why this is occuring, and what I can do to fix it permanently?

[Bug 630748] Re: iwlagn degrades quickly during normal wifi session

2010-10-17 Thread kennymchansen
I have no idea if this is related, but after upgrading to Maverick, my
4965AGN wireless adapter will not reconnect after resuming from sleep
mode.

The Wlan indicator is off, and i cannot enable wireless in the network
manager. I am on a Lenovo 3000 v200 and i have not had this problem
before (i have been using Ubuntu for three years now)

Re: [Bug 515109] Re: cannot suspend usb devices on lucid

2010-05-02 Thread kennymchansen
you should use sudo su and then echo disabled.

you can also make a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ with:
#!/bin/bash
echo disabled >/sys/bus/usb/devices/.../power/wakeup

[Bug 515109] Re: cannot suspend usb devices on lucid

2010-05-02 Thread kennymchansen
echo disabled >/sys/bus/usb/devices/.../power/wakeup is working in my
case. but only until next reboot. How do i make this change permanent?
Can i put it in a startup-script?

The udev rule doesn't work for me - Or perhaps i am implementing it the
wrong way? the rule is going into: /lib/udev/rules.d - Is this right?

[Bug 406515] Re: [Karmic] Brightness fn keys lost functionality (multiple laptops)

2009-11-05 Thread kennymchansen
I have the same problem on my lenovo 3000 v200. I think perhaps it has
something to do with KMS?

Before upgrading to Karmic I tried installing the latest kernel and
enabling KMS in Jaunty, and then i had the same problem. When i disabled
KMS, i could use the fn keys again just fine.

I hope this helps in fixing the problem somehow.

The fix seems to be working for me. Although i have experienced being
kicked out to the gdm screen a few times - for some reason this only
happens when the computer is on AC power. Another time i noticed that it
happened after suspending by closing the lid.

[Bug 369249] [NEW] X session resets after suspend with Compiz enabled

2009-04-29 Thread kennymchansen
Public bug reported:

Compiz is working perfectly, and acpi functionality is working. The only
problem is that when i try to resume after suspend i have been logged
out of the X session i were currently working on. I am presentet with
the log on screen and all open windows have been closed. This only
happens when visual effects are enabled...

I guess i dont need the effects, but i just think it is weird that I
have to choose between suspend or Compiz...

I am running Jaunty on a Lenovo 3000 v200 vith intel 965 express
graphics.

If it helps, here is the output of my pm-suspend.log:
Code:

--quirk-dpms-on
--quirk-vbestate-restore
--quirk-vbemode-restore
