[Bug 343781] Re: nvidia-based Mac Mini (Macmini3, 1) won't reboot (but will halt)
The problem fixed itself over here but as this was on my co-worker's machine that I had set up for him I don't know what exactly happened. He told me he just installed the Jaunty updates. His current kernel is 2.6.28-15-generic. -- nvidia-based Mac Mini (Macmini3,1) won't reboot (but will halt) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343781 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 343781] Re: nvidia-based Mac Mini (Macmini3, 1) won't reboot (but will halt)
I can confirm this problem on both a single- and dual-boot (+OSX w/ rEFIt) 64-bit Jaunty install on a new 24 iMac (Type 9,1). When rebooting from the command line (shutdown -r now shutdown.log 21), no error messages are logged. dmesg and syslog don't show any problems either. -- nvidia-based Mac Mini (Macmini3,1) won't reboot (but will halt) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343781 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 227003] Re: boot stalls in waiting for root file system
I probably have the same issue. I have a fresh 64-bit Hardy install on a new HP Pavilion with an Intel Quad Core and nVIDIA GeForce 9500. When starting the computer, Ubuntu freezes shortly after the GRUB menu when the splash screen comes up and the progress bar bounces to and fro. This happens mostly when restarting the computer, but sometimes also following a clean start (using the Power button). I disabled the splash screen to catch the associated error messages but there didn't seem to be anything useful. Screenshots of the output are posted in this thread in the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=897958 (Post #3). I added 'all_generic_ide' to /boot/grub/menu.lst, but the problem persists (although it appears to occur less frequently). Let me know if you need any additional info. -- boot stalls in waiting for root file system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227003 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
