[Bug 513427] Re: 'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot convert name Everyone to a SID. Invalid parameter.
I had the same error message. I installed the GUI tool from the system- config-samba package. There under settings-server-settings-security you can choose the user for the guest account. It said no guest account. I changed it to nobody and restarted smbd. After this I didn't get the error any longer and sharing from nautilus worked like expected. [Bug 424833] Re: python-webkit doesn't honor http_proxy anymore
Well... nice that there 's a patch available. What about bringing it to the stable or at least to the proposed updates since major features in actual Ubuntu releases like gwibber depend on this package... I always wanted to give gwibber a try with FB, but I'm behind a proxy and until now I'm locked out. [Bug 381300] Re: elevator=cfq (default) cause starvation
My system runs on karmic. uname -a: Linux kplaptop 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 17:01:44 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux Copying 155GB data to external usb drive with NTFS and cfq scheduler starts with around 30MB/s and drops to 9MB/s after transfering 10 to 15 GB and slows down to 2MB/s if I wait a little bit longer. Using Ext3 on the same disk and using cfq scheduler the datarate is around 22MB/s for the first 90 to 100GB and then drops down to 2MB/s. While copying the mount process was on top of cpu usage with around 4% and my desktop applications reacted a little bit slow. Using noop scheduler I get constant transfer rates of 21MB/s and no desktop starvation. -- elevator=cfq (default) cause starvation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197762] Re: file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) are slowing down with time
I'm pretty sure that comment 177 will help most of you all. This bug is probably a duplicate of #381300 See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/381300 for more information. Try to set your I/O scheduler to noop and see if transfer rates stay constant. To do this follow these steps: sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst search for the line begining with #kopt and add elevator=noop without the quotes to the end of the line save exit sudo update-grub reboot HTH, ktp. -- file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) are slowing down with time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 452380] Re: After installing add-on, restart button does not actually restart Firefox
I'm using 9.10 final. If I hit restart in the FF add-on window, the main FF window closes, but the add-on window stays open. Hitting the close button of the add-on window pops up a dialog which asks me if I want to force the window to close. After the add-on window is closed, FF does not restart on its own. I'm using 0.1.2-3ubuntu2 too. My System is Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty). I can see the same behaviour as mentioned above on initial setup. If I restart Screenlets completely after setting to right reserved then the Sidebar is ok. If the docking functionality is enabled then newly added Screenlets will be placed left from the reserved space and not like expected on the sidebar itself. In addition the Pidgin Screenlet will be placed left from the reserved space on every change in size (ex: new buddy online) also with docking disabled. -- screenlets sidebar kicks itself out of reserved space https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357447 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
