[Bug 1105159] [NEW] webbrowser can't handle spaces in html-filenames or paths

[Bug 759234] Re: can't click on buttons in firefox 4
During the last days I I got the feeling that the problem is not limited to firefox 4. I noticed that sometimes ubuntu doesn't react directly when I'm using the mouse or touchpad. Sometimes I have to repeat two or three times, what I wanted to do (e.g. move a Window with the Mouse). And now I found out that Im not the only one who has these problems. Look here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1747222 (and eventually here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/light- themes/+bug/741112) A workaround might be to "autoremove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau", see page 3 of the above mentioned thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1747222&page=3 I didn't try this out, because I'd like to wait for removal of the bug instead. Sometimes it help to scroll down and up again on the same site, sometimes I have to reload the page (and, finally, very often I have to use Opera, which works perfectly under 11.04). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759234 Title: can't click on buttons in firefox 4 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 692947] Re: Internal Ricoh R5C822 Card Reader recognizes SD-Cards only after suspend/resume or restart

[Bug 692947] [NEW] Internal Ricoh R5C822 Card Reader recognizes SD-Cards only after suspend/resume or restart
Public bug reported: I own a HP DV9812EG Notebook with an integrated "Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 22)". Unfortunately it does very often not recognize my SD cards directly. In order to recognize an inserted SD card I have to suspend and resume the notebook. Then the card(-reader) get immediately recognized. This "workaround" works with restart, too. But both solutions are not very comfortable! I'm not unsing the Internal Ricoh R5C822 Card Reader every day and therefore I couldn't say exactly when the problem arose, but I think it came up with the upgrade to Maverick 10.10. And eventually it has something to do with the hibernate/resume process, because I'm usually hibernating my notebook. Thus, probably it is a bug in the Kernel. Unfortunately I don't now which information would be needed to find the reason of this problem. I hope that the informations that have been collected automaticly by ubuntu and this result can give a hint, where the problem could come from: ren...@pavillon:~$ lspci 00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP65 Memory Controller (rev a3) 00:01.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP65 LPC Bridge (rev a3) 00:01.1 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP65 SMBus (rev a1) 00:01.3 Co-processor: nVidia Corporation MCP65 SMU (rev a1) 00:02.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP65 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:02.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP65 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:06.0 Ethernet controller: nVidia Corporation MCP65 Ethernet (rev a3) 00:07.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP65 High Definition Audio (rev a1) 00:08.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP65 PCI bridge (rev a1) 00:09.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP65 IDE (rev a1) 00:0a.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP65 SATA Controller (rev a3) 00:0b.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation Device 045b (rev a1) 00:0c.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP65 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0d.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP65 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0e.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP65 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Miscellaneous Control 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4321 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03) 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8400M GS] (rev a1) 07:05.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 05) 07:05.1 SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 22) 07:05.2 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter (rev 12) 07:05.3 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller (rev 12) ren...@pavillon:~$ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: linux-image-2.6.35-24-generic 2.6.35-24.42 Regression: Yes Reproducible: Yes ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-24.42-generic 2.6.35.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia wl AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23. Good to know that somebody seems to know where's the problem. Unfortunately the Mainline Kernel 2.6.34 for Lucid (which I'd like to keep on using) doesn't work with Broadcom WLAN cards. Look here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/577136 That's why I didn't even try to compile the above mentioned 2.6.34-rc7 based Maverick's kernel. Does somebody know if there will be a Kernel release for Lucid with the fix for our HDMI problem and working Braodcom STA drivers? -- No HDMI Sound with Jaunty 9.04, Kernel 2.6.30, ALSA 1.0.20, Conexant CX20561 & nvidia MCP65 HD Audio (Geforce 8400M GS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 577136] Re: package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36+bdcom-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: bcmwl kernel module failed to build
I'm having the same problem with Lucid and Kernel 2.6.34. First I installed Kernel 2.6.34 RC7 on Saturday, then Kernel 2.6.34 final yesterday an now Kernel 2.6.34-999 today (with the daily builds released on 20th and 21st May) [I got all versions from: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/]. After the installation of Kernel 2.6.34 my Broadcom WLAN Card doesn't work neither with Kernel 2.6.34 nor Kernel 2.6.32. Directly after the first restart after the Kernel Update Ubuntu tells me that the package bcmwl-kernel-source could not be installed/updated. And if I try to install it manually ubuntu tells me to look at /var/log/jockey.log for details (see attachment) After the deinstallation of Kernel 2.6.34 the Broadcom-Drivers restart working with Kernel 2.6.32. ** Attachment added: "jockey.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48876148/jockey.log -- package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36+bdcom-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: bcmwl kernel module failed to build https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577136 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've done everything you aks me to do and here is the result: This time my PC recognized the damaged HDD as sdb, while another HDD was sdc. This picture shows the results of palimpsest of fdisk -l and fdisk -l /dev/sdb: http://picfront.org/d/7wlN ...and it shows nearly the same result: palimpsest shows sdb and fdisk doesn't display any information about it. Then I've executed the dmesg command and got (of course) a vry long result. Probably to long be displayed completely in the terminal. Everything that was displayed will be attached to this message. Afterwards I copied the dmesg log from /var/log and I'll attach it here, too (but I've to mention that this log file is already some days old). OK, thanks and good luck ;) ** Attachment added: "Results of fdisk & dmesg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/42037788/Results.zip -- fdisk -l doesn't list damaged hdd but palimpsest does https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/534370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 534370] Re: fdisk -l doesn't list damaged hdd but palimpsest does
I changed the link to the screenshot in the bug description. It should work now. If not, please let me know. ** Description changed: My PC contains a damaged hdd from which I'm rescuing data using ddrescue. I'm doing this already for several months. Now that I updated to ubuntu 9.10 I'm having a strange problem: "fdisk -l" does not show the damaged hdd anymore, while palimpsest does. Look here: - http://www2.picfront.org/token/ZiAA/2010/03/08/1781435.png + http://picfront.org/d/7tqP In the past I always checked if the damaged hdd is sdc by using "fdisk -l" before using my "standard" ddrescue command (and if the hdd wasn't listed, I could be sure that the hdd had not been found by the BIOS). Now I'm getting the information from palimpsest, but it is strange that "fdisk -l" doesn't show the disk and I think it must be a bug (eventually not a very important bug, but still a bug). [Bug 92416] Re: slapd do not start
This bug was caused by the fact that slapd runs as user openldap and /var/run is not writable by anyone but root. Now in gutsy the pidfile and argsfile are under /var/run/slapd, which is owned by openldap:openldap. afaik this bug is no more for gusty. also one should make sure that the init script takes care to do some chowns in case slapd is run as root for debugging purpose, ie if entries are added while debugging and slapd runs as root, database files will be owned by root, and the next start with the initscript will eventually fail. -- slapd do not start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92416 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 106418] Re: 2.6.20-15 still won't boot
Ok, it seems that upgrading from 2.6.20-15.24 (or 14 as in dpkg.log) to 2.6.20-15.25 did the job, it works now -- 2.6.20-15 still won't boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 106418] Re: 2.6.20-15 still won't boot
I have the problem: 2.6.20-(14|15) do not boot. My hard drive is a SATA one so devices are already sdx. 2.6.20-13 boots fine. all i can see is that the computer freezes while setting up sata stuff (at the kernel level, removed quiet and splash in grub cli), it's at approx. 3 secs after grub. Is there any options that i can give to the kernel to get more infos ? debug or something ? btw, I tried the "libata.ignore_hpa=0" and it did not work. -- 2.6.20-15 still won't boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 75224] Re: Beryl says it c aught deadly signal 11
I ever installed beryl-0.1.2, run xgl from gdm login, and tried beryl-manager, beryl-xgl reported as "caught deadly signal 11" as askhay, Just now I update to 0.1.3 and repeat the same error again. I use Merom structure (Intel core 2 duo), Can bery work on it? The additional warning is emerald says file libemeraldengine.so.0 missing. On updating, package manager reports that libemerald want to overwrite a file which belongs to package emerald. Maybe it causes the warning. ** Attachment added: "crash details" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5374925/_usr_bin_beryl-xgl.y-GJFS.crash -- Beryl says it c aught deadly signal 11 https://launchpad.net/bugs/75224 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
