[Bug 91292] Re: [nvidia-glx] Resolutions lost on upgrade from Edgy to Feisty [nvidia-glx-legacy][nvidia-glx-new]
The edit of the edid.bin fixed the issue for me with a Toshiba Tecra (GeForce4 420 Go) -- I still can't understand why the NV driver gets: (--) NV(0): Panel size is 1024 x 768 and the nvidia driver only sees 969 (verified via nvidia-settings) I posted some attachments related to this in Bug #123820 -- [nvidia-glx] Resolutions lost on upgrade from Edgy to Feisty [nvidia-glx-legacy][nvidia-glx-new] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91292 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 123820] Re: nvidia driver useEDID work-around causes worse problems
I have the same issue as Jonathan with a Toshiba Tecra 2100 (using GeForce4 420 GO and the nvidia driver). I get a perfect 1024x768 with the nv driver -- however the EDID info from the nvidia driver pegs my native screen resolution at 969x768 :( The workaround mentioned in Bug 91292 (hex editing the edid.bin) works for me. UseEdid set to false does not fix it -- nor does Option ModeValidation NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck. I'll start it up with the nv driver and post the EDID info and the edid.bin from nvidia-settings. -- nvidia driver useEDID work-around causes worse problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
