Turning the on-board card of didnt work, but uninstalling alsa-base and ubuntu-minimal and installing them again fixed it. Well at least for now, I hope it won't stop working again. Hi Daniel That didn't work either. - When I open Alsamixer or gnome-volume-manager it says "Audigy 2", but the sound is going through the on-board card. Forgot to mention that I run Feisty Fawn (updated from a development version) I also found this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa- driver/+bug/81476 I don't know if its the same problem.
