petit-prince, we may want to find out the most recent kernel where one could put the card in multiple times with no problem, if this scenario exists. [Bug 1181520] Re: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x00030000 even though no command operation was in progress.
Christopher, thank you for pointing out this wiki article. Following the instructions, I spent the whole day testing and bisecting. I realized that some of the kernels I previously thought worked, only work the first time I put the card in. Once I eject the card, I need to unload and re-load the kernel modules to get the reader working again. I suspect multiple regressions, e.g. "used to work" => "used to work once, but requires reload of kernel modules" => "doesn't work at all". Should we treat this as multiple regressions, or as one regression? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181520 Title: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x0003 even though no command operation was in progress. [Bug 1181520] Re: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x00030000 even though no command operation was in progress.
As requested, I just tested Oneiric in a live environment and it appears to show the same behavior (see apport information above). I'll try to bisect which releases worked. [Bug 1181520] Re: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x00030000 even though no command operation was in progress.
petit-prince, thank you for providing the requested information. For regression testing purposes, could you please test for this in an Oneiric live environment via http://releases.ubuntu.com/oneiric/ ? ** Tags added: precise ** Tags removed: regression-potential ** Tags added: regression-release ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181520 Title: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x0003 even though no command operation was in progress. [Bug 1181520] Re: 1180:0822 mmc0: Got command interrupt 0x00030000 even though no command operation was in progress.
@Joseph: Tested with 3.10.0-031000rc2-generic. Same behaviour. As per your suggestion, I have marked this bug as "Confirmed". This bug has already been tagged as "kernel-bug-exists-upstream", so I haven't touched the tags. @Christopher: I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. This bug *did* occur in a release prior to Raring, i.e. it also occured in Precise. It might have affected Oneiric, too -- I would have to go back and bisect releases. However, it did *not* occur in Feisty, Gutsy, Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty, Karmic, Lucid, Maverick and Natty.
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.10 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
