[Bug 1306621] Re: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure
looks like the issue I was having has nothing to do with the update. cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log revealed the following. [Bug 1306621] Re: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure
@siu managed=true does not fix the problem. I am running mainline 3.15.1 and suspend/resume was working very well until I updated the linux-firmware package to the latest version on 06/27/2014. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306621 Title: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1306621/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1306621] Re: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure
I used to have the same issue. Last week I updated "managed=true" in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf (to fix a seemingly unrelated wifi connection issue), and the suspend/resume problem disappears. If you also use the Network Manager applet (which is the default on Ubuntu), I suggest you try this fix. (I don't know why this fix works. But it seems to do the job.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306621 Title: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1306621/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

WishMaster, thank you for your comment. So your hardware and problem may be tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into a Ubuntu repository kernel (not a mainline one) via: ubuntu-bug linux For more on this, please read the official Ubuntu documentation: Ubuntu Bug Control and Ubuntu Bug Squad: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue Ubuntu Kernel Team: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Filing_Kernel_Bug_reports Ubuntu Community: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette When opening up the new report, please feel free to subscribe me to it. [Bug 1306621] Re: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure
I can confirm the problem it also happens on my T440S. The system will appear to go to sleep mode (i.e. the LEDs will start indicating sleep mode). However, it appears to not suspend completely and the system produces a lot of heat while it is in this state which is rather dangerous if you put it in your sleeve and leave it there the system will overheat quickly. I have updated to the mainline 3.14 kernel and the problem persists. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306621 Title: [LENOVO ThinkPad T440s] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1306621/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
