Jamie, The path is not mounted before log in, and actually the windows partition does not get mounted even after I log in until I click on it in Places-Computer-WinXP. Gutsy requires an administrative password to mount it (because it is an internal vs external disk), in Feisty I think it used to get mounted automatically the same way an external usb drive would. In any case after I mounted it, tracker (Version: 0.6.3-0ubuntu1) still does not index it, as non of the content there appears in the search results. I am not sure if this is a problem with tracker or the way feisty deals with my windows partition. celil, is the ntfs partition mounted prior to trackerd starting? if not tracker will not pick it up (IE it must be in your mtab/fstab file and correctly mounted at boot) you can test this by opening a terminal (ctrl+alt+F1) prior to logging in via gdm and seeing if that path is mounted I will investigate more once I have more feedback from you... Thank you for your response. I restarted my laptop at least twice since I made the changes in the preferences menu, however I still cannot search through any of the folders the folders in my windows directory. Is there any way to check which folders tracker has indexed? My version is 0.6.2 from the ubuntu repository, I will wait until the next version is added there, and let you know if the problem still persists.
