Yes. Actually, it might be more useful to diff between 15.10[1] and
16.04[2]. That lets you see all the differences that were required to
get it working.

Paul: Unfortunately not, but you can see how the configuration is set up
on build.opensuse.org[1]. Details about the prjconf format is available
on the openSUSE Wiki[2].

2016-04-22 Thread Neal Gompa
This is no longer a problem on the Open Build Service, as we're now
ignoring the ifupdown dependency from upstart. Thus, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
build environments now work, as seen by this example[1].

[Bug 1573275] Re: ifupdown should not hard-depend upon 'mountkernfs' and 'urandom'

2016-04-21 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1573275/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

  '/etc/init.d/networking' for 'ifupdown' starts with:

it would appear that 'mountkernfs' and 'urandom' are not hard-

- virtual machines in some circumstances. This was reported by Conan

Ideally a hard-dependency should not be declared if it is not actually a
hard-dependency, and introduces a regression by preventing successfully
installation in circumstances that are reported to have worked
previously for installing earlier Debian/Ubuntu versions on OBS.
