[Bug 2067527] Re: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431!
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 2067865 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067865 With Ike's help, I am now testing on doerfel with 5.4.0-186-generic. And yes this issue can be reproduced with the command mentioned in #2, I have also verified that the stress-ng update from upstream is still capable of triggering this issue. Next is to investigate the behaviour difference I will mark this bug as a duplicate of the stable update report, to get this tracked automatically. Thanks! ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 2067865 Focal update: v5.4.275 upstream stable release -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067527 Title: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431! [Bug 2067527] Re: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431!
Also can reproduce with 5.4.0-182.202 kernel on Cavium ThunderX2 (apollo) Ampere Altramax (papat) and Hisilicon d05 (acosta) but not Hisilicon d06 (segers). I assume this is because d06 has crypto hardware module. Also confirm that I can not reproduce on those affected platform with kernel debs in #6. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067527 Title: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431! @cypressyew, Hi, I can trigger this issue in 1min with command in #2 Kernel 5.4.0-182.202 and 5.4.0-186.206, stress-ng 0.15.08-1~f2 and on Cavium ThunderX (doerfel). I am also building kernel reveting "crypto: api - Disallow identical driver names" and will test again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067527 Title: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431! [Bug 2067527] Re: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431!
Hi Dann, I would like to know how lone does it take to reproduce this issue? I am trying to reproduce this with a ThunderX Cavium ARM64 box (wright-kernel). But I can't trigger this panic with a 35 minutes test. BTW We have found another af-alg test hang issue on that wright-kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-kernel-tests/+bug/2067570 For the patch mentioned by Hon Ming, the fix will be included in the 5.4 and 5.15 generic kernel in the following stable updates: * https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2024-June/151271.html * https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2024-June/151309.html -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067527 Title: kernel BUG at crypto/algapi.c:431!
