Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in NVIDIA-GRAPHICS-DRIVERS. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 -- screen resolution stuck at 600x420 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269813] Re: screen resolution stuck at 600x420
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the Attachment: box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Incomplete -- screen resolution stuck at 600x420 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 269813] Re: screen resolution stuck at 600x420
Here is /etc/X11/xorg.conf from yesterday. I have since got the resolution back to normal via recovery mode and the attempt to fix xserver option. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf.20080913234338 http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17601221/xorg.conf.20080913234338 -- screen resolution stuck at 600x420 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 269813] Re: screen resolution stuck at 600x420
Here is /var/log/Xorg.0.log from today not sure if it will be helpful now that resolution issue has been resolved. Also the resolution was actually 680x420 - I got that slightly wrong. Spoke to one friend who also had Hardy resolution issues and there was another person on ubuntu forums with a screen resolution stuck at 320x210 Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. not sure how to do this and as the resolution is now working, not sure if it would tell you anything. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17601278/Xorg.0.log -- screen resolution stuck at 600x420 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
