[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure

2010-08-20 Thread Edson de Kort
Hi,
I can confirm that this issue is also happening in Ubuntu desktop 10.04 on my
Toshiba Satellite M40X-286.

This is a clean install. It does not happen often, still need to check the
percentage.
It happens after suspend, so when I open up the laptop again instead of getting
the login screen it stays black
and mouse keyboard and touchpad don't work. Need to power off by holding power
button.

Is this Bug ID still active by the way or do i need to look at another Bug ID
for information?
I can provide more info if some one would like this.

Regards

[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure

2009-10-12 Thread Mimue
This bug still exists with karmic beta. Suspending works (at least it
seems so, the power lamp is blinking sleepy), but when I then want to
resume (by pushing the power button), it hangs somewhere. I cannot
power-off the laptop except by removing the battery. Thus: same
behaviour as reported above.

[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure

2009-08-03 Thread Mimue
Dear Leann,

I just tested the Karmic 9.10 Alpha 3 as LiveCD. I could suspend the
laptop, but, unfortunately, I had exactly the same problem as with
Jaunty:

I have to remove my accu in order to get the system reboot again.

Do you need any log files which could help to identify the bug?

Hi Mimue,

Care to test and confirm if this issue remains with the latest Karmic
9.10 Alpha development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available
from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . You should be able to test
suspend using a LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure

2009-03-29 Thread Mimue
And continuing with my information gathering...:

Today I wasn't able to resume successfully from a suspend. I always had
to switch off power manually forced. I also had a blinking CAPSLOCK lamp
after a resume trial, but only one time so far. Normally I have to push
the power-button for about 5s in order to switch off the power and cause
a system reset. Sometimes even this doesn't work and I'll have to remove
the battery.

Hybernate still works properly.

The Suspend works very fast, a estimate about 4 to 5s. When I trigger a
resume by pressing the power button then it takes only about 2 s and the
system hangs.

When I then force a power-off and restart my system, a crash report is
indicated for reporting to Launchpad. One of these reports is this one.

[Bug 344508] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite M40] suspend/resume failure

2009-03-29 Thread Mimue
Hi Leann,

Here is the information:

My system is right now (on 2009-03-29) up to date for Jaunty. The
problem still occurs.

The problem happens during waking up after a Suspend. The falling into
sleep seems to work properly, meaning that at the end the Power-LED is
slowly blinking.

The problem is quite good reproducible. I say "quite good", because I
also had a successful suspend/resume sequence on my system yesterday.
Just before the successful Suspend I did a successful Hybernate.

Could you please take a look the triage and debugging guide at
