[Bug 351389] Re: 64bit restricted extras should use 64bit flash and java plugins

2009-07-01 Thread Onkar Shinde
Can you please provide the patch against latest version in karmic?
Also note that this is a native package. So the version should not be of the
form ubuntuX.

[Bug 351389] Re: 64bit restricted extras should use 64bit flash and java plugins

2009-05-06 Thread Jesper de Jong
Simon, are you sure that your patch is correct?

I think it should be sun-java6-plugin, not sun-java6-jre.

sun-java6-jre is just the Java runtime environment, without the browser plug-in.
sun-java6-plugin is the browser plugin, which depends on sun-java6-jre.

[Bug 351389] Re: 64bit restricted extras should use 64bit flash and java plugins

2009-05-06 Thread Simon Olofsson
Attached is a debdiff that prefers sun-java6-jre over icedtea6-plugin
because some people might want the icedtea plugin.

[Bug 351389] Re: 64bit restricted extras should use 64bit flash and java plugins

2009-04-16 Thread Jesper de Jong
Note that currently, the 64-bit Adobe Flash Player 10 for Linux is a
prerelease / alpha version, even though many people report that it works
very well.

(@Mike: You mean nspluginwrapper, not ndiswrapper).

The problem with ubuntu-restricted-extras is that at this moment it
depends on sun-java6-jre as well as icedtea6-plugin for amd64, which
means that you get two Java runtime environments installed (Sun Java 6
and OpenJDK Java 6) if you install ubuntu-restricted-extras on amd64.
The dependency on icedtea6-plugin (and OpenJDK Java) should be removed,
since the current version of Sun Java 6 now includes a 64-bit Java plug-
in.
