[Bug 370023] Re: not possible to set screen resolution back to original value
Okay, given it's been a long time since this was last reproduced, I guess we'll close it at this point. If you do see the issue again on Karmic, feel free to reopen the bug (or open a new one). ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- not possible to set screen resolution back to original value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 370023] Re: not possible to set screen resolution back to original value
Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce the issue. I forgot to mention that when changing the resolution with the gnome tool, a projector was connected to my vga-out. I cannot retry that at the moment, since I have no projector available. My customized xorg.conf and the output of lspci -vvnn is attached. ** Attachment added: "lspci.output" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26880466/lspci.output -- not possible to set screen resolution back to original value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 370023] Re: not possible to set screen resolution back to original value
Hi uschilling, Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: needs-xorglog ** Tags added: needs-lspci-vvnn ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- not possible to set screen resolution back to original value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 370023] Re: not possible to set screen resolution back to original value
My first bug report was not quite accurate: there actually is an extra entry in my xorg.conf specifying a virtual resolution of 1280 x 1024. I commented it out and have now my native resolution back. However, it should be possible to get back the native resolution via GUI tools without resorting to editing xorg.conf. So this is basically what the bug report is about. -- not possible to set screen resolution back to original value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
