[Bug 376825] Re: https_proxy issue when proxy server requires authentication
Using Ubuntu 10.04 behind a proxy which requires authentication, I'm affected by this bug. Checkgmail seems to use password as user name : Error 500 Can't connect to www.google.com:443 (Bad service 'my_passw...@my_company_proxy) I use checkgmail at home with the same account, without proxy, and it's work fine. Re: [Bug 376825] Re: https_proxy issue when proxy server requires authentication
Hey mate, Unfortunately it's hard for me to test anymore, as I no longer need to authenticate with a proxy. If you've fixed it or know that it should be fixed now that's great :) Regards, Ben On Sat, May 8, 2010 at 8:00 AM, kurt belgrave wrote: > hey > Are you still affected by this bug in the latest ubuntu release, also did > you try checkgmail -update. > Also looking at this bug i believe this should be feature request of the > upstream checkgmail project. > Cheers > > ** Changed in: checkgmail (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > https_proxy issue when proxy server requires authentication > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376825 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in “checkgmail” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete > > Bug description: > Binary package hint: checkgmail > > checkgmail does not appear to work with proxy servers that require > authentication. > > using settings like the example below works for apt-get, etc, however > checkgmail assumes that the first colon it comes across is the end of the > proxy hostname. > > http_proxy=http://\:@: > https_proxy=http://\:@: > > To unsubscribe from this bug, go to: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkgmail/+bug/376825/+subscribe > -- https_proxy issue when proxy server requires authentication https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376825 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
