[Bug 39825] Re: Memory leak?

2006-09-18 Thread Toivo Pedaste
I'm running Dapper and having problems with the xserver size blowing out
to multiple giga-bytes. When I ran xrestop it showed that Firefox had
over 2GB of memory allocated in the xserver.

I'm running the nvidia driver

[Bug 39825] Re: Memory leak?

2006-06-26 Thread Dylan
I restarted my session yesterday, and haven't used FireFox at all. So
far, my system has not touched swap. Xorg is running a nice, lean 782m
virt (670mb res) vs. the over twice as much it was using within a few
hours of starting X yesterday.

Mozilla (1.7.8) does not seem to have the same leak bug that FF 1.5.x
has, thankfully.

[Bug 39825] Re: Memory leak?

2006-06-24 Thread Dylan
Under Slackware, Xorg 6.9 didn't have such a bad memory use. Going to
5.10 Ubuntu, Xorg 6.8's listed memory went up (and my computer touched
swap a lot more). Dapper's Xorf 7.00 fixed this some, but a recent
upgrade to a Xinerama setup has made the situation a whole lot worse.
Top will show that between Kopete, Mozilla, FireFox, and Thunderbird,
I'll have about 287mb of RAM used. Xorg will be consuming 1.2gb!
Xrestop shows that Mozilla shares 250mb of pixmaps. Closing FireFox,
Thunderbird, etc, removes them from the xrestop listings, but Xorg
itself still consumes multiple gigabytes of RAM:
