[Bug 417132] Re: Driver for Tritton USB 2.0 to VGA adapter
No; the issue is that X auto-detection looks only at the PCI bus. It doesn't scan the USB bus for devices. So all USB2xxx type devices must be manually configured. Maybe someday someone will implement USB bus video device scanning in X.org but I know of no plans currently. -- Driver for Tritton USB 2.0 to VGA adapter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 417132] Re: Driver for Tritton USB 2.0 to VGA adapter
My apologies, your responses got me thinking that the USB2VGA adapter may actually be supported, just not configured properly. I did some research and found in fact that it's been supported for several years in linux, and modprobe picks it up in Ubuntu, it's just not picked up for X configuration. I've set it up to work with my ATI card now after reading various threads in ubuntuforums, the only remaining issue is trying to get Xinerama working with it. Attaching lsusb -vv, as this ticket is regarding a USB VGA adapter, figured this might be important to attach. ** Attachment added: "lsusb -vv" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30744464/lsusb_output -- Driver for Tritton USB 2.0 to VGA adapter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 417132] Re: Driver for Tritton USB 2.0 to VGA adapter
Hi intel352, Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well. [This is an automated message.
