Pepe, I should have been more specific in comment #26 above; I tested the daily ISO (just pre-beta) of Lucid. So, the bug is present in both 9.10 and 10.04. -- Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm marking this bug as triaged to let the developers work. Please, can you include any information about if this behavior is only present in 9.10? Pepe, This bug is still present in today's ISO. The kernel appears to be listening to killswitch events but it is still impossible to turn on WiFi if killswitch state changes during suspend. syslog shows this when I enable and disable the killswitch. Hi all, We'd like to know whether this is still an issue for you. If so, please can you try with last kernel version, (Lucid upstream) which is located on http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/ Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 438559] Re: Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965
The system also can't handle it if the killswitch state is changed during suspend to RAM. The killswitch works fine if killswitch state is the same at suspend at resume, but you get no wifi if the killswitch is switched during suspend. ** Attachment added: "killswitch_test_matrix.ods" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33294994/killswitch_test_matrix.ods -- Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 438559] Re: Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965
After some testing, I see that when rebooting, the important thing is killswitch state during boot. If the machine is booted with the killswitch ON, wifi is not turned on in the session when the killswitch is switched OFF. If the machine is booted with the killswitch OFF, wifi works as normal and the killswitch works as normal during the session. It doesn't matter what state the killswitch is in during shutdown. -- Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
