[Bug 572038] Re: Update Manager does not prompt to upgrade to 10.04 if LTS upgrades option is set in sources.list

2010-06-18 Thread Tamlin
Thanks for this - I'm using 9.04 and had the same problem. Update
Manager doesn't show the upgrade to 10.04 even though show LTS upgrades
is selected it doesn't come up. Having skimmed through this report I've
changed it to show all upgrades and 9.10 is available so I'll upgrade to
that and then to 10.04

Cheers

2010-05-21 Thread arand
As far as I know, this does work if you do sudo do-release-upgrade -d or
update-manager -d, I heard something about it being disabled as a default for
the time being (needs more testing?).
The -d method may hence be slightly unsupported.

[Bug 572038] Re: Update Manager does not prompt to upgrade to 10.04 if LTS upgrades option is set in sources.list

2010-05-01 Thread J Jones
Michael,

So when will the update be offered to 8.04 users? I still have several
machines on 8.04 and couldn't figure out why the update wasn't showing
up yet.

I also have a machine on 9.04 that doesn't show 10.04 as an upgrade
option even when I select Long term support releases only. It only
shows 9.10 and only then when I select Normal releases in the Update
Manager settings.

J Jones,

I guess, you'll have to upgrade to 9.10 first, and only having that done
you would be able to upgrade to 10.04. Doesn't seem right, but I don't
know another way.

2010-05-01 Thread jtniehof
J Jones: version skip upgrading is only supported from LTS to LTS, so your
9.04 machine will have to go to 9.10 first.
