[Bug 575485] Re: iPod Touch not recognized

2011-04-24 Thread eapache
Works fine in Maverick and Natty, and is clearly not critical enough to
warrant a Lucid SRU.

[Bug 575485] Re: iPod Touch not recognized

2010-05-15 Thread eapache
Poked around a bit with libimobiledevice. Discovered the following:

With absolutely no changes to the base Lucid install, installing iFuse
from the repos allows access to my iPod via filesystem. Rhythmbox
doesn't pick it up properly still, but the fact that iFuse (which uses
libimobiledevice) works out-of-the-box means the problem is not with the
current kernel, and is not with the current libimobiledevice.

I'm leaning back towards this being a rhythmbox problem, which makes me
wonder why the rhythmbox people told me it was a lower-level problem in
the first place (see bug #573161).

[Bug 575485] Re: iPod Touch not recognized

2010-05-12 Thread madbiologist
Also try updating libimobiledevice. The version in Lucid is currently
0.9.7-1ubuntu1, however version 1.0.0 was recently released. See
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_itempx=ODA5Mg for more
information.

As you are on x86_64, note the entry in the Ubuntu changelog for
libimobiledevice which says:

libimobiledevice (0.9.7-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * Move copying of documentation files to libimobiledevice-doc.install file.
Fixes FTBFS on non-i386 buildd.

[Bug 575485] Re: iPod Touch not recognized

2010-05-06 Thread eapache
Given that the device is showing up in the udev logs, I imagine that
this isn't a problem with the kernel, but rather somewhere higher up the
stack. I will test with upstream kernel if you still think it is
necessary for some reason.

[Bug 575485] Re: iPod Touch not recognized

2010-05-04 Thread Jeremy Foshee
Hi eapache,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
